jjc: Good day Mr. Visa Officer:...During the interview, do we need to bring or present the bank book to the interviewing officer or just a Certification from the Bank stating the amount of money in our account? If the bank book is needed,do we leave it there or we can bring or take it back after the interview?
Beijing NIV Unit: We do not have specific requirements on what kind of Proof of Finances you need to bring to interview. As long as you can demonstrate you have sufficient funds to cover travel expenses during your stay in the U.S, it is fine. We will return the bank book at the end of interview.
I've been in U.S. for 10 years, I've got green card and now I work as a public emloyee in school district in U.S.My parents applied for visa to visit me 6 years ago, but were rejected, the reason is they have 移民倾向. But actually they don't want to immigrate at all.My mom is going to be 80 years old this year. I really hope my parents, esp. Mum to come to visit us and see what our home is like. On your site , it says: ''Applicants who are 80 years old or older, and have not been previously found ineligible for U.S. visas, are not required to come to the U.S. Embassy to apply for nonimmigrant visas.''Does that mean my mum still needs to go in person to apply because she was refused once? If so, is there a possiblity in near future you will extend this to all 80 years old no matter previous rejected record?
Beijing NIV Unit: Your mother is welcome to apply through the CITIC Bank drop-off service. Her case will be reviewed by an officer, who may decide that an interview is needed to assess her ties to China. It would be helpful if you provided a copy of your original visa to the United States and clearly explain how you became a greencard holder. Please refer to:http://chinese.usembassy-china.org.cn/niv_renewal.html for more information.
jjc: Sir:..I am a foreigner working here in CHina, but intend to apply for a US visitor's visa here without returning to my home country......I'm holding a Chinese resident's permit and a foreign expert Certificate valid until next year...Are these documents useful to present during the interview?...Do I need a copy of these since they are stamped on my passport?...Aside from my ties here in CHina, do I need to present other docs from my country, like properties I owned and family ties?...Could you please give me some suggestions what convincing documents can I possibly present during the interview? Thanks!
Beijing NIV Unit: Yes,you may apply for B1/B2 visa in China without returning to your hometown. To be honest, it is usually easier to demonstrate your intent to return when applying for your home country, but we also see many third-county applicants in China. It will be helpful to present your Chinese Residents’ Permit and Foreign Expert Certificate when coming in for your individual interview. You should be prepared to demonstrate ties to your home country and to China.

qiudafu: I sent you a question previously asking whether I can fill in the DS-160 form here in the US for my parents who live in China. I found the following paragraph from the website of US. Department of State, it states Notice 22 C.F.R.6 41.103 requires an applicant to sign and submit his or her own Nonimmigrant Visa Application unless otherwise exempt. Although the applicant may receive assistance from a third party in preparing the application, the applicant is required to click the “Sign Application” button at the end of the application. The applicant's failure to sign the application may result in a termination of the application. Here is my question, Should I fill up the DS-160 form for my parents, save it into my computer, send the completed DS-160 form to my parents, and ask them to click the “Sign Application” button at the end of the application to submit the DS-160 form? Your reply is highly appreciated. Thank you.
Beijing Vice Consul: You can submit the application on behalf of your parents. The application will ask if it was completed by another person.
