我发email问McMaster 小米 about 雅思分数的事
问了两次都没问出答案来
我想知道各项是不是都要6.5分以上
硬是没问出来啊我作文只有6啊
那按照他的意思其他3 分只要总分过6.5就够了吗？

I am preparing to apply for your graduate program in Department of Computer &Science, as I know, the vacancy for international students are quite limited, especailly for students from developing countries. I don't know whether it is the truth, but I want to make sure is there any vacancy for me in September,2011. I am from China, and I have got my BS in June,2010 with GPA 4.13/4.3, with IELTS 7.But I didnt take GRE, is that a necessay benchmark, and how about the specific requirement of GRE marks? And I also want to know the specific requirement of IELTS, as my writing is just 6.

The IELTS is also accepted, with a minimum score of 6.5.

That's quoted from the website you mentioned, but I wonder does it mean the four parts all should obtain the minimal of 6.5, or just overall should be 6.5?

It is the overall IELTS>6.5, no specific requirement for each part of it.
I just want to remind you that it says "The GRE is not required, but strongly recommended", and you dont have GRE. This means you are at a disadvantage.

Another thing, if I should mention, is your writing skill is in need of improvement. I understand if your grammar is not good or your sentence structure is not perfect, but really you need to know what you should say and what you shouldn't . This is not English.
Such as "especailly for students from developing countries", here you are assuming the university has a discrimination, which can be a big offense to staff.

But I agree with u, when I saw the "especially for developing countries..", I also felt it was kind of inappropriate.

In addition, it is "overall": LZ ask "whether overall...or each part..."in ur email, and the secretary replied "overall..". So I think she answered lz's quesiton..

呵呵可以理解在学校里长大的学生有的时候不见得有机会接触到这种问题
出来吃一次亏你就记得了但如果能在吃亏前发现问题当然最好
这种事情我都栽过很多次了
