Do you agree or disagreewith the following statement:

Younger school children should be required to study artand music in addition to math language, science and history.

For yonnger schoolchildren, math language, science and history, accompany with art and music, composed the basic elements through their life path from illiberal toenlightened. These knowledge also pave the way to a person’s final fulfillment, either. In my point of view, it is advisable to open art and music courses foryounger students as well as the major course, such as literature, math, scienceand so on.

To begin with, Iconcede to acknowledge that without these courses concerning about art andmusic, younger children could spend more time on the major classes andfundamental skills like language, math, science and history which would be beneficialin their later life, give them the ability to judge the right from wrongrationally and impartially, and to comprehend the long history of human beingsaccurately. However, the cost of spending time focusing on the basic knowledgeis that children will inevitably lose the sensibility of art and humanity. It isthe common phenomenon that a clever student adroit in math and history fails toshare the same favorite with his or her peers, due to his or her averseness aboutsinging songs or drawing pictures with friends. Therefore, the advantage atbasic knowledge for a younger child fade away his or her weakness at art and music, and even worse, make it hard for his/her to adapt to the society in the future.

What’s more, the artand music also represent the valuable resources our ancestors bequeathed forus. The abandon of these courses to the younger children indicated a devouringof our culture inheritance. If our offspring are not willing to access toBeethoven’s music and Da Vinci’s painting, why should we establish museums forthese masters and try our best to conserve their masterpieces. Although itseems no need for us to transfer current art cognition to our children, withoutthe past precious works, no innovation created later. After all, the art andmusic classed not only teach the students to sing and paint, but also guildthem the appreciate the valuable art resources.

In conclusion,I think the younger chidren definitely need the art and music courses inschool. A good command of art and music provide them the opportunity to meetnew friends and adapt to the society much eaisier. After learning from singsongs and draw pictures, the younger students could start their own insterests aboutart and music, which confirms the diversity of human nature.
