Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The best way to improve the quality of education in a country is to increase teachers’ salaries.

Education is an important foundation of the development of a country. Nowadays the competition among countries embodies the competition of science and technology and the competition for the talented people. Both of them depend on a high quality of education. But the best way to improve the quality of education has to be considered circumspectly. It is not as easy as to just increase teachers’ salaries as far as I concerned. It is more complex and profound, and needs policy makers take into account many influence infectors and subsequent effect.

For many developing countries, the input of education is limited by fiscal capacity. The deficiency of money compels the local government put more attention to improve the infrastructural educational facilities, such as to build more schools and libraries, or to support poor students to finish their basic education. It is definitely of the government to construct educational system firstly, and to provide more opportunities for people to receive education. Increasing teachers’ salaries is not the most important issues. On the other hand, when the wage rates in society are general low, it is not proper to put limited money to increase teachers’ salaries. Despite that, there are still some ways to promote teachers’ qualities. The government can afford opportunities for teachers to get continual education, give teachers more respect and conduct a good tendency to beneficial to teachers, or make preferential policies to promote people to choose education as a career.

Even in some countries, the great progress has been made in advancing educational level. It is not an effective method to enhance the quality of education merely by increasing teachers’ salaries. For instance in China, we have a large education system. In many places a teacher’s pay is not low. But our quality of education is far from satisfied. Many problems in our educational system hamper our students gain fair and free development. And those problems are nothing to do with the payment of teachers. In china, the most serious issue is the inequitable educational resources’ distribution. In some metropolitan cities, top schools and universities aggregate together. Children in those places can receive better education and have more opportunities to enter into universities than those in the countryside. It is better to put all money fair to all the schools, students and teachers than to keep having a rise in teachers’ wages indiscriminately.

The development of education in a country is always in a complicated situation. So solving a concrete problem needs a concrete analysis. I don’t appreciate to believe increasing teachers’ salaries is a best way to promote the quality of education.

I definitely agree that advertising should be responsible to people’s unhealthy eating habits. In modern times, our world is saturated with substantial various advertisements, which have deeply influenced people’s lifestyle especially in eating habits. In order to gain a victory of the campaign in the market, fast food chains, snack manufacturers, beverage brand holders try every means to persuade people to consume their products more and more. Most of those messages are passed by sale advertisements through powerful modern media, but majority of those products are junk foods and impact people’s traditional eating habits.

Macdonald, a representation of world fast food industry, always allures consumers with juicy big Mac. But those kinds of foods, such as pizzas, fries, are high fat and calorie and low nutrient foods. A major consequence is that increasing people become overweight and hardly keep fit. Some serious diseases will easily harm their bodies, for example the heart disease and hypertension. But in the past, vegetables and fruits are abundant in our plates, which provide useful vitamins and plant fibers necessary for people’s health. The change of our component of diet is derived from businessmen’s propaganda. The advertisements educate people abandon the tradition of eating a variety of nutrient-rich foods, and turn to junk fast foods. This new recipe of foods is one of numerous adverse effects originated by advertising.

In term of products, the advertisement plays a role as a cheat. In term of the lifestyle, advertising conduct a worse tendency in society. First of all, people more like to eat any where and at any time than before. All sorts of snacks filled in our pockets are ready to feed our appetites. We eat not because we need replenish our energies, but because advertising teach us that we should enjoy ourselves by tasting delicious snacks without limited. Nevertheless, the result is we have no appetites at the dinner time. Secondly, advertising make a fast lifestyle prevail. We are always chasing time even at meals. Without a relaxed mood, is it possible to us to get completive absorbing of foods? Furthermore, we may take ill and suffer from stomach diseases when we always have a hasty dinner under the stress. So those demeanours advertised by fast food enterprises are quiet unhealthy, and advertising made those bad demeanours become our eating habits.

Advertising penetrates thoroughly and into every part of our lives. But we should maintain our own discretion. Because advertising is the most important cause of many unhealthy lifestyles including eating habits.

I quite approve of creativity plays an important role in solving problems. Being creative is an indispensible capability of people at crucial moment facing a problem. Maybe a careful plan can help people deep the understanding, intensify the arrangement and substantial the preparation for a problem, but it can not conduce an ultimate solution spontaneously most of time. No matter whether we have a plan or not, we always face unpredicted situations. What we have to do is to find a feasible method and try it, which relies heavily on wise and creativity in an emergency. On the other hand, an excessive dependence on planning beforehand will restrict people’s free performance, and maybe impede an extraordinary progress.

The most important reason we need creativity in front of a problem because we constantly face uncertainty. Uncertainty means we can not anticipate and prepare well everything in advance. Uncertainty demands our concrete analysis and proper actions timely without the direction of plans. So being creative gives us abilities to jump out the plan, the old way and the negative experience. We need use new thoughts to come up with the best way out of the trouble.

For example, in business, a company invariably makes purchasing, production and marketing plans of next year, also makes a budget. Those plans are requested to strictly comply with in order to achieve a predefined revenue goal and maintain company’s continuous development. However, changes are too quick that make the plans behind. A real leader of a company needs a strategic mind, and constantly focus on internal renovation, and is ready to meet the new challenges from outside anytime. A strategic mind requires standing on high and made particular decisions to concrete and critical problems, which all need creativity. Those decisions not only include the methods to get rid of a dilemma but also include catching a fleeting opportunity. A person who is confined by plans can not become an outstanding leader. Another similar example is military leaders. That the skills of a commander always seems as an art demonstrate creativity is high recommended in war.

Admittedly, plans are necessary, but are secondary to achieve a solution to a problem. Creativity can help people to find the best way to solve problems. So improve our ability of creativity is quite important in our life.

Do you agree with the following statement? Children should only study or play and don’t have to do household chores.

In china, parents are confined to have one child under the national birth policy from decades ago. The only child of a family then is cherished like jewelry of parents and grandparents. Many parents think that children should only study or play. It is not necessary to allocate some household chores to them. Those parents indeed should not be blamed for spoiling their kid, but excessively doting on them may be disadvantageous to their growth. So my advice, that is to offer some simple household chores to children, may prove better than the opposition.

First of all, a child is also a substantive member of a family. It is essential to make he/she feel playing an important role on family affairs, that is to say to commit a responsibility to the family. Therefore, giving a chance to the child to do some helpful things for his\her parents can arouse his\her feelings of belongings. It likes these familiar scenes we can see between a mother and a son. A mother always encourages her son with the words: your little man, you will protect your mum, won’t you? The mother doesn’t really need a little boy’s protection. However, it is effective to make the little boy become strong and responsible immediately. Similarly, doing some household chores make children think him/her being needed and gain achievement. That promotes the attachment of a family.

Second, to let children do some house works is beneficial to their independent lives in the future. They need to learn some basic life skills, such as making some food, washing their clothes, cleaning the house, and so on. When they train those everyday, they will not only acquire the skills but also gradually foster a good manner to arrange things by themselves. With the growth of the age, they will easily form an independent mind and a strong character. An independent character is elemental for their surviving in modern society.

Finally, labor is a useful way to train children’s practical ability. The comprehensive ability of a person comprises the abilities of theory and practice. Knowledge in books needs be trained by practice. Those house works can give them experience from life, and let them learn different things from their class.

In summary, giving some household chores to children is not harmful to their happy childhood, and will give them a better beginning as an adult.

Ordinarily, people want to get a good job with a high salary, more vacation time, not too much burden, and more freedom. But it is always far from satisfied when you find a job that can offer you some conveniences but make you lose the others. The common case is you should devote more time to gain a higher payment, or give up some incomes to trade space for private time. The choice between a job with more salaries but less spare time and the counterpart may be worthy to consider seriously. In my opinion, a more spare time job may be better than the opposition.

First of all, too much work has been proved bad for a healthy life. We need enough time to rest, not only it is beneficial to replenish our energy, but also give us an opportunity to renew our mind. A long period working will cause stress and physical discomfort. With the extension of the work time, overuse of our mind and body may make us digress, be unable to concentrate, and become forgettable. Our mental condition also becomes unstable. We are easy to get angry and depress. That is detrimental to the health and disadvantageous to the work itself. Having a vacation of your. To take some time to put the work behind and do some entertainments may make the things different. When you came back to work after a vocation, you may find troubles are not such trouble and people are apt to communicate and understand each other. As the Chinese saying goes, a better rest brings a better work.

For the reasons above I therefore agree that we should choose a job with more vacation time. Although the payment is the goal of work, it is not of life. And a job is the means of life but not the meaning of it.

In the busy and crowded world today, we should not expect people to be polite to each other.

The speaker asserts that there is no need to expect people to be polite to each other in the world today, because nowadays life is too busy and every encounter between people is hasty. Therefore it is not necessary to be considerate and amiable to others. And just a serious focus on the things or business is an effective way of social survival. However, in my view, whether you expect people to be polite or not is not the crucial point, the most critical problem is: are you ready to be polite to others on any circumstance, especially to a stranger? I think we should, not only in past but also at present.

In the first place, I believe that having a courtesy is what you want yourself to be, in another word, how you define yourself, which is independent from the outside world. Not matter how the world changes, if you want be a decent person, you will cultivate fine qualities in your character. To be polite embodies you are well educated in ethics and having a good manner, and you want to be a person with dignity.

In the second place, I believe that to be polity to others is essential to a good interpersonal relationship. People unchangeably like kind persons they meet. When you show a friendly attitude to others, ordinarily you will receive a friendly respond. But if you always have a frigid and indifferent expression to people, I think nobody would like to give you a warm return. So a good simile on the face, some kind words to others will not pay lot but gain more. Who don’t want to be treat friendly, so if you want people are polite to you, you should do in advance. That is the principle for a satisfied interpersonal relationship.

In the third place, I believe a polite person will win more opportunities in his life. As the old Chinese saying goes, “An unexpected help comes from an unexpected person.” If you can constantly maintain your courtesy to everyone, including strangers, maybe a significant person, who are hardly emerging in you life really emerging on some day, would not be missed by you. The example above is not a fiction but a scene occurring everyday in reality. Of course, the premise is you are the exact person the stranger want, or the talent you have is appreciated by the stranger, but a kind encounter, bases on your polite character, definitely increase your chance.

In conclusion, from the individual, a good manner is the primal element to be a decent man; from the interaction among people, to be polite will foster an aural of good relations and offer you more opportunities to meet crucial persons in your life.

Movies and Televisions should always show audiences that good people are rewarded and bad people are punished.

The influences of Movies and Televisions, boosted greatly by the contemporary media, maybe have surpassed the influence of literature. As one of arts, a movie or a television describes a story basing on reality or a fiction coming from an imagination. But whatever the content is, they all derive from experience and understanding from a true life. In another word, they definitely reflected our real world. The difference between a movie or a television and reality is that the formers may contain more dramatic episodes or unexpected coincidences, while in substantive, they should not be considered as the contrary. So if we admit art should reflect life, we should not set a limit, as the speaker assert that a movie or a television should always show audiences that good people are rewarded and bad people are punished, because those things can not always happen in reality.

The extent in which whether or not a movie or a television should always demonstrate a happy ending of a good man and make the bad people fail or be punished, in the speaker’s view, conduces to a conflict of ethics. The speaker believes if we don’t arrange such kinds of episodes, we are failed to reveal our attitudes to adhere to justice or be against evil. But the speaker’s view ignores the plain truth that the audiences have their own judgment. The audiences’ discretion can be depended on when they face complicated ethics problems. For example, having watched a tragic movie, although people feel sorry about the good characters in the movie, people still can maintain their positive attitudes to life, and even more they will more cherish what they have and inspirit their courage against bad things. Ordinarily, most kinds of movies and televisions with or without a happy ending will not make an adult confuse. A normal adult has the ability to distinguish which is good or bad in a movie.

In term of children, they are lack of living experience and apt to be effected by negative things in movies and televisions. However, the method to protect children from bad influence is not to confine the content of a movie or a television, but to restrict the contact to what they are not proper to see. So the classify system of movies is a better way to solve the problem.

From what have been discussed above, we may safely draw the conclusion that the creation of movies and televisions should be free, but the content can be classified, which will be sure the right influence received by right people. That is better than merely imposing limit to all content indiscriminately.

It is often not a good idea to move to a new city or a new country because you will lose old friends.

It is no doubt that the friendships with old friends are the most valuable treasure in my life. Nevertheless I would like to travel to more places and see more people and customs, if the opportunity ever arises. I don’t agree that any migration from one place to another will make people lose their old friends, although it will adds some difficult to meet old friends frequently, but keeping in touch with them as possible as you can， you will not lose them or be lost. And the more places you have been, the more friends you will get.
On the one hand, a life is depended on affections, including every friendship. But an abundant and perfect life needs more. I believe that if you really cherish your life in such an unbelievable world, of course, your life is a miracle too, you would want to learn the world, to gaze into the world, and to integrate with it. Therefore, why shouldn’t you go out to put yourself into an entire different life? The various experiences you go through not only make you gain more value comprehensions to the world but also give you a substantive and profound enlightenment of life. I don’t know, except reading, whether there is another method to teach you more about the world likes a diversified life itself. So go to different places, be ready to encounter new people and run into a new life. That is my appreciative lifestyle and I highly recommend it.
On the other hand, migration to a new place will not cause your loss on friendships, but give you more opportunities to attain more. At present, in such a high-technique world, even there is thousands miles between we and friends, we still can maintain our contact with them. It is not necessary to see each other face to face everyday, and we can keep in touch by internet, cell phones and even a letter. Of course, make sure yourself not to forget your friends’ birthday. Thus every old friendship will last constantly. Sometime I consider that a far distant friendship maybe will consolidate and last more than we expect. Another advantage of a move to a new place is we will make new friends, and we will be a new friend of others. New friends can share more fresh experiences to each other, and expand everyone’s field of vision. As a result, it is obvious that change our living place will not make us lose friends but on the contrary, and as far as we are positive to it.
In sum, I hope to have a variety of life and memories in different places, and also gain more and more friendships.

Only movies that can teach us something about real life is worth watching.

Conceiving and making a movie is an art, and any sort of art reflects the real life. Basing on this assumption, I don’t know if there are some movies or other artistic expressions having nothing with our real life. I suppose the speaker’s genuine view is a movie based on what has really happened or what is greatest possible to happen should be watched by us. I can’t agree with the idea like that, for we are supposed to understand the world and life both by way of direct or indirect experiences of real life, and through other methods, such as imagination or fantasy and so on, to expand our conceptive space and amplify our understanding to the world. On the other hand, I believe that an excessive expression of real life in a movie, especially focusing on brutal reality or bad human natures, maybe proves not good to the audiences.

In the first place, the world we are living is a substantive world, and most of us are confined in our daily life. I think that is why fictional novels and fantastic movies are so popular among audiences. We want to experience another different life. In those movies or novels, we immerse ourselves in the episodes like, mingling with the persons we will not belong, experiencing an adventure we will not be involved in, or facing an outside-universe creature we can hardly image. Those imaginations make us jump out of the confinement of a boring life, wonder at the creation of humans, and feel the freedom of our existence. For this reasons, how could we reject those attractive contents in movies, but limit our field of vision just in reality.

Furthermore, in some small cities or towns, there is not even a cinema, let along a concern hall. So expanding money input to culture and art facilities is a wise option.

Second, most of culture and art facilities, such as libraries and museums, are unprofitable. It is difficult to attract individual investments to put in. It is no one but the government should commit the responsibility to construct an abundant and sufficient culture supporting system in a country. On the contrary, most of recreational facilities can be established and operated by private capitals. For the profits from operating recreational and sport facilities, the needs in the market will determine what kinds of facilities and how many of them should be built. The market can reach its balance between the requirements and supplies without the government’s intervention. Therefore, it is better for the government to spent money on the place that really needs it than a market has adequate funds.

Third, the construction of museums and theatres is not only for the culture needs of people, it is the requirement of culture itself. The culture needs to be inherited and enhanced along with the development of a society. We need more specific institutes and places to study, summarize and exhibit our culture and art achievement. But sports or other entertainments have not such a characteristic. Thereby, with the spontaneous development of culture, there are more culture facilities emerging, and the government plays a main role of culture’s construction. China, as one of the longest history countries in the world, should pay more attention to built museums to protect traditional cultures, especially those at the edge of extinction.

In principle, we gain news of other countries mainly through newspapers and magazines, but I don’t appreciate they are the best way to learn about foreign countries, for the following reasons.

First of all, generally, the content which we have access to see is published in newspapers and magazines of our own countries. As you know, for the reasons of ideology and politics, there is obviously tendentiousness on the reports of foreign countries. For the allies, the government is apt to portray their positive aspect. When I am in front of this topic, I am wondering how many days I didn’t have a dinner with my parents, maybe several months, maybe more. I know the busy daily routine separate myself from them. I definitely agree that we should pay more time with our parents, at least eat meals together regularly. For I know what our parents expert is so little, no more than a sight of we are in health and a message of we are all right. I totally disapprove of the ideas which depreciate the value of mastering and improving the ability of reading and writing. I don’t know where is any evidence to show that it is less important of those abilities than before. Whether this type of thoughts comes from the modern visual media have been boosted for decades and have penetrated thorough into every parts of our life, so make people consider the effect of reading and writing decreases with the fall trend of printed media? Or because new methods of communication like cell phones and internet have profoundly change our pattern of life, which makes the applied scope of writing and reading less than before. First and foremost, literals are the most essential parts in people’s life and the process of maturity. In history, there are numerous of discoveries and inventions emerged. Some of them improved the benefits of human beings, such as medicines, vehicles and telephones. But some others, like explosive, poison composites or the technique of feigning, give negative impacts, even great devastation to the people. So some anti-technique persons claim that the advance in science and technology actually damage our society. And many think that some negative impacts or bad consequences should be blamed on those scientists who discover them. In my opinion, I strongly disagree with the idea, for I believe that the development of science is unavoidable and any kind of finds and discoveries is nurture, they are two-side coins which have advantages and disadvantages at the same time. The point is how we use them.
To begin with, all the inventions, as far as I am concerned, are inevitable in history. From the most first, our genius ancestors found using wheels to accelerate our travelling speed, to the manufacture of carriage and take advantage of horses, to the present time, we can drive cars speedy in a high-way. That is all the spontaneous development of society and science. We should not deny the achievement of them but think we ought to stay at a low level of technology. So we should not blame those scientists, no matter whether or not their discoveries are good or bad to the people. If there are some discoveries in the future will indeed extinguish our whole ethnic group, I consider that is the only ending of human beings but not an occasionally evitable mistake by some scientists.
Furthermore, if it can be say that some scientists incur some bad consequences to humans, like TNT explosive being widely used as a big weapon to kill people, but it is hard to say they should take responsibility to the misuse of their discoveries. Because I believe that any finds and discoveries is nurture, and the point is not the judgment of the science itself but is the judgment of who and how to use them. Would you like to redefine your problems as tests? It is better to see what we can learn from them than fight with them. How to grow old
Some older people are bothered by thinking about death(some old people are oppressed by the fear of death: be oppressed by 对。。感到压抑).
