The following three sentences have surface similarities, but only two share the same underlying structure. Find out the odd sentence by employing a syntactic test, such as deletion, insertion, passivization, inversion, constituency test, and dummy pronouns .

Which of the following statements do you agree with? What reasons would you give to support your opinions ?

(i) People with high IQs are good language learners.

Choose one of the following questions and write a one-page essay in response to the questions. Please use English to answer the question. Please quote the name of the author(s) whose work(s) you refer to in your answer to observe academic honesty.



1.Digraphia is the coexistence of two writing systems, each to be used in the areas to which it is best suited. Reformers in China have been emphasizing the need for a policy of digraphia, i.e., Pinyin and the Chinese characters. Do you think it is a good idea to introduce such a policy?


2.What would it mean to speak without an accent? Thank globally as well as regionally: what would it mean to speak English without an American, British, Canadian, Australian, or some other national accent? What would it mean to speak Mandarin without a regional accent? Why do you imagine some people appear to think it’s better to be from nowhere than somewhere?

3.Describe the best teacher you ever had. You should specify why that teacher was the best. Make a list of such reasons, which should reveal some attributes for all teachers or would-be teachers to emulate.


4.Do you think personal names, such as Baby and Mommy, or personal pronouns, such as I and you, are easier for young children to perceive and analyze? Why?

    P.S.因为是新手,所以有个问题想问大家,就是复制卷纸试题到帖子的时候有些题目后面会出现本来卷纸上没有的内容,看起来像是题目的出处和某些题的答案。不太明白是怎么一回事,恳请高手解答。
    谁有港中文的telephone interview经验也请分享下,最好是2012年的,貌似已经面试过一轮了。拜托啦……(^人^) (我是6日上午)
