Compared with the local curriculum which has been determined by the limited teachers in the local area, the unified national curriculum would ensure students in different parts of the nation have the equal opportunity to receive a high quality of education.Consider you are a student who get the same score in two same exams in two locations A and B.Every other element is exactly the same except the curriculum you used in location A and B.Since the university enrollment mark is based on the different curriculum version,it is possible that you are accepted by X university in location A,yet failed in location B.Under this circumstance, some students would lose opportunity to get into their ideal university.
In addition, introducing the unified national curriculum for all students may have certain amount of positive consequences to the entire nation. Infusing
students with the common value systemand standards shared by all person in the nation can ensure all of the students be favored with the opportunity to learn all merits of the traditional values that have been created and tested for a long time by our ancestors.
Howeverthere are some exact detrimental effects
on
consistent national curriculum.Primarily,to some minority states, the consistent national curriculum would ruin their traditional conventions and lifestyle rather than satisfy their demands. This phenomenon is especially significantin China. For instance,Chinese government used to strive to promote students in Tibet to use consistent national curriculum which are written in Chinese, whereas most Tibetan use Tibetan language to communicate in both daily life ,work and study. This policy has contributed to a majority of Tibetan students to learn Chinese so that plenty of
Tibetan students are incapable of writing and speaking their own language in recent years. How could the consistent national curriculum ruin the previous traditional culture gradually? Secondly,it is harmful for teachers to teach creativity.Consider that would there be any new points for a teacher to discover in a textbook that has been used hundreds of times?
In conclusion,we should adopt the proper attitude to the unified national curriculum. For one hand,it should be concentrated in inculcating students with fundamental moral sense such as honesty and
responsibility. On the other hand,it is necessarily for local governments to institute other things like the ability to learn based on themselves necessities.
