ESSAY:
There is a old saying that “Teaching people fish is much better than giving people a fish”, Parents who encouraged children to do their work independently can arouse children’s potential ability and develop their different skills. Mostly, I agree with encouraging children to do their work independently.
For the children who have the ability to do their work by themselves, the suitable guide and timely applause from their parents is what they need. “Practice makes perfect.” If they have no chance to put what they have observed and thought into practice, they cannot master even one easiest skill in the world. There are some Chinese parents who dare to give their children chance to work independently. Owing to that, their children may be lazy and incompetent which are called “flowers in the greenhouse” by the public. It obvious that these children would meet numerous problems when they have to live alone one day if the situation did not changed. They probably get lost in the cruel society only because they did not have their parents’ warm hands to solve all the troubles for them any more.
Thus it can be seen, offer children opportunities to work by themselves and encourage them to do this is crucial. During this proceed, children can not only grasp one particular skill but also get more strong and diligent. The faults they have made today maybe avoided tomorrow, and all these points will do a great benefit to their growth.
Nevertheless, in some conditions, parents should help their children to do their work. If the work is too hard or too dangerous to finish, as well as if your children have some more important things to do so that they have no spare time to do this work, parents could choose to give a hand to them. When you are handling the work for them, you can also make some brief introduction about the solving methods, so that children are able to learn some experiences through that way.
