Admission: Boston University (US) , University College London (UCL)
Rejection: New York University, Duke, Toronto (MFE)
Pending: University of Toronto, University of British Columbia, University of Southern California,

剩下三間學校真是等到天荒地老都等不到, 可能不等了
目前應該就是在BU & UCL 之間作抉擇,
不知道大家對於這兩間學校的想法是甚麼?

我申請的兩間學校都是economic policy program
BU的Economic policy program有29 credits皆與普通的MA economics相同但Economic Policy Program則多了選修及inter的選擇為期一年半(三學期)
UCL的Economic policy program與一般的MA economics相比則多了applied economics optional courses的選擇

因這兩間學校都位於大城市中, 生活費應該是不相上下, 但Boston University 的學費較貴 (約US 40,000一年),
而UCL的學費則為￡17,500

兩個學校我都滿喜歡的, 不知道該如何做決定, 若是你們會怎麼做決定呢?

爬了文好像沒有人遇過類似的問題所以才想來問問大家

要继续PHD的话 UCL 要工作的话两个都OK啦。。。看下文化差异呢。。个人更喜欢英国些。。。不爽美国的短历史==+

應該暫時不會再繼續念 PHD太辛苦了
有想要在當地工作，不過依照目前的經濟情況
英美對於外國人的簽證申請越來越嚴格
應該不太可能找到工作
所以目標是回來亞洲的大城市工作吧

我對英國沒有美國熟悉
有點害怕
口音文化都是新的挑戰
如果是美國適應障礙就比較小了

8# yhpeng11 UCL吧，据说好像留London不是那么难，有个Warwick econ msc留伦敦了，说同期的其他两个中国人是不想在英国找工作，所以就直接回国了，努力点应该还是可以的吧。。。感觉比BU留下来工作不靠谱，据说BU的课程同样很tough

请问那个warwick的同学找的什么工作？
为什么普遍的样本都是在UK找工作难的一米。。。而且即使LSE的Finance等都回国或是比价好的也就去HK罢了。。。

啊？怎么留的不是工作政策改变了么……我同学LSE的金融找了荷兰银行因为政策坑爹了不得不offer改成实习……

welcome~~I think about a third of the class go to the financial industry, a third of the class go to the economics-related organizations, and the remining decide to pursue further study. Warwick is a target school in the UK, good brand name to land a job in the UK, but one-year is a bit tough。。。中间省去若干字。。。i should say the best students choose to go to city ,one cam grad, average 90, now at rbs 。。。job hunting has a lot to do with your aim and commitment，no chinese students but me in my cohort want to find a job in the UK，but if you try really hard, the chance is not slim。转去WBS绝对是有这种可能，不过也要看造化了。。我是个人觉得warwick在找工作方面还蛮有优势的，很多我的classmates包括我自己都在英国找到了工作，雇主有bank of england, 投行,四大还有一些成功进了buy-side.

15# yhpeng11 我纯经济学项目，想将来做研究，因为美国那边duke拒掉我了，所以选择去英国了，感觉美国之外才有经济学纯项目。相对来说，去warwick更有可能stand out吧，而且生活费比较低，就算最后哪也去不了，留下来读博据说也比较容易。如果说回来中国工作，bu还是好些，毕竟普遍中国人都认为美国学校好些吧，而且Boston大城市，一听就是见过世面回来的。虽然ucl也很好。。。如果留下来伦敦工作，其实我也不清楚ucl到底怎么样，只打听了warwick，好像因为wbs比较好吧，貌似ucl商学院不咋地，不知道在产业界口碑怎么样，教授不知道就自己去各种论坛里打听吧，国内的国外的，还有就是可以联系在读的人，或者是从哪里出来的人到底怎么样。

Although PSW is abolished, Tier-2 visa becomes much easier to obtain at the moment. I guess your friend is a current student at LSE and ABN AMRO does not have a sponsor license now. Most big banks have got a license and a lot of quota to sponsor international students, even in the old days that Tier-2 visa was difficult to apply for. If anyone wants to find a job in the large institutions in the UK, the difficulty is actually less now.

My theory is that a lot of Chinese students do not even attempt to stay in the UK, or try a bit and then give up after some difficult time. Actually many like to return to the HK or mainland. Some may prefer the UK, but are intimidated by some crazy rumors about the difficulty. From what I have seen, those who are very committed to stay in the UK have got a good chance to make it if they attend one of the top schools.

不好意思, 又是我!
我到現在還是沒有決定到底要去哪一間學校 (天哪)
可以問一下推薦UCL的原因是甚麼嘛?
學校排名? 課程設置?
我在網路上找了一下資料不知道有沒有錯 UCL的fail rate是30% 令我很擔心!!!

台灣唸經研的幾乎清一色都是去美國，英國近幾年好像有多一點點，但還是少數。
所以如果唸完想回台灣就業的話，BU似乎是比較好的選擇。
