185."Scandals-whether in politics, academia, or other areas-can be useful. They focus our attention on problems in ways that DO speaker or reformer ever could." (大小姐题目都写错了,DO??应该是no啊!!)
In today's increasingly complex society, nothing is impossible. Recently, due to the permanent(ly,较好) special focus on social celebrities, some people claim that scandals in all fields such as politics, academia, or any other (加areas) are actually quite useful. People's attention is fixed on problems in ways that do speaker or reformer ever could. As far as I concerned, the assertion makes sense based on the following reasons.
The most important of all, I do agree that scandals play a key role in social life and sometimes provoke certain necessary issues to us. Let us take two typical examples(尽量避免如此水句,take…for examples). Firstly, he (the first is the)well-known love affair of Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky. This case is not only related to censure of this public cheating behavior of a president to his country as a political case(有 cheating country吗?), but also reveals a common(??) social phenomenon and provokes a controversial topic to all the American people that is the responsibility to family and loyalty to spouse (in any family删掉). Even the president is(was) so, how about other social members?(总统的私生活和公众的有关系吗?难道总统如何大众亦如何?) Though love affairs are hardly uncommon in western countries and sometimes people are tolerant to these, however, this case(,用逗号干什么?) do(es) leave every citizen a serious lesson: do we really acknowledge unfaithful love affairs or do we just abandon ourselves and evade our duty? Secondly, in today’s incredibly competitive scientific and technological research fields, plagiarism has become a serious problem. With the development of the information technology and the Internet network, everyone can "write down" a dissertation by a simple click(a click?) or "ctrl c" plus "ctrl v". Just recently, China daily revealed a famous professor in XX University plagiarizing an article of certain foreign authoritative magazine and this scandal brought about a really drastic debate. It is concluded that there is an urgency to pay much more attention to the most basic academic and scientific spirits than specific researches. All time’s along, these so-called scandals are indeed symbolic social phenomena and always cast (a删掉) light on the origin of necessary argumentation. Scandals act like (as) a primer(?what?) and reveal some cruel stuff people do not want to face or fear to confront, most of which are evils of human instinct such as greedy, lust, (and删掉) etc.(有点突兀,象衍生出来的观点)
On the other hand, for each person, it is important to fix major attention (to改为on) the prevailing contributions rather than scandals. Still take Bill Clinton for example. Though his reputation is greatly damaged by his love affair scandal, it is unfair to ignore his prominent contribution to the United States in the whole 90s. It is Clinton that helped (the删) US reach the peak of the national economy ever in history(?) and it is undeniable that he is the great contributor to American even the whole world(?Clinton有那么大的贡献?)’s economic construction. His scandal should not conceal his terrific politic talents and admirable leadership. After all, No one live(s) without faults and so do celebrities. What we should do is (to) discriminate the more crucial side and learn from it. In some cases, it is unsound to mix professional factor(?) with one’s private life. What’s more, it is also possible that the mass media propaganda(propagandize) and exaggerate scandals of celebrities on a purpose of chasing more sales of the newspapers, magazines, or audience rating of their Television programs. Thus, it is important to evaluate the validity and reliability of scandals first.
In sum, scandals do provide a method to get to the bottom of certain cases and evaluate a person fully. In all, no one is perfect in this world and so do idols and celebrities. One can learn some lessons or experiences from these (them) and also see some basic instinct of human beings.
