我是这么解的：

Vascoux应该是人名，not exclusively 等价于not only，是提示词，说明后面空格的词要比imbue的程度弱一些，但情感态度是同向的。imbue的解释: to cause (someone or something) to be deeply affected by a feeling or to have a certain quality。

然后看选项B undermining削弱（反向），选项C debunk 揭露（反向）可以排除

选项E validate解释为证实，语义语境用在这里太强了，也排除

剩下的cater to迎合，hew to 坚持，遵守；让我很犹豫。考虑到迎合可能属于中性偏贬义，这样的话就选D，hewing to 最合适了，坚守信条，翻译起来也很通畅。

Vasoux ，并没有完全 [_____]现代jazz的原则，在他的trumpet演奏中充满了一种对于浪漫派作曲者的悲痛怀念。(?)
要填入词的部分属于整句句子的插入语，按照意思的话，应该是D最合适了。

其实，我也觉得A和D好像很难在这里严格地区分开。。求更好的分析

cater to a person or aspects of that person，搭配不当
ls分析cater to中性我觉得也是很好的理由，整句话明显地褒义

Vascoux 做题的时候不认识，查了下也没有解释..暂且理解为某个名次吧
not exclusively 不仅仅逻辑关系词应该是一个比后面程度要轻一些的近义词

选项 A 为..提供迎合 B 逐渐削弱 C 暴露 D 遵守开辟 E 证实

我做的时候选错了词义把握不准吧
imbue 有感染的意思
所以感觉D比较恰当..

——雖然迎合在中文里勉強適用（“迎合”規矩、法則也不是特別說得通），但仔細看英文詞義，差別就很明顯了。

本来在catering和hewing之间犹豫，查了下webster，觉得应该选Hewing to

Merriam Webster 上hew的解释是conform, adhere

看题干上的意思：Vascoux并没有单一用爵士乐的元素，而是结合了浪漫作曲家的悲怆元素。。。
关于干扰项cater, 意思应该偏重于饮食行业的外包... 感觉其实并不符合。

主要还是在A和D之间纠结，但考虑到是tenet还是用hewing to更合适。这题自己选错了。

首先，从后面的his看来，vascoux应该是一个人名，并且这人是个男的...
貌似只有cater to the tenets和hew to the tenets不太好区分，according to Cambridge Dictionary, the definition of cater to is: to try to satisfy a need, especially one which is not popular or not generally acceptable
而tenets是"one of the principles on which a belief or theory is based on", 可以感觉到是个褒义词，并非not acceptable的，因此不选
