40. Milk and dairy products are rich in vitamin D and calcium—substances essential for building and maintaining bones. Many people therefore say that a d.. Milk and dairy products are rich in vitamin D and calciet rich in dairy products can help prevent osteoporosis, a disease that is linked to both environmental and genetic factors and that causes the bones to weaken significantly with age. But a long-term study of a large number of people found that those who consistently consumed dairy products throughout the years of the study have a higher rate of bone fractures than any other participants in the study. Since bone fractures are symptomatic of osteoporosis, this study result shows that a diet rich in dairy products may actually increase, rather than decrease, the risk of osteoporosis.

Write a response in which you discuss what specific evidence is needed to evaluate the argument and explain how the evidence would weaken or strengthen the argument.

万一遇到这道题osteoporosis可以用 the condition 来替代 要不然每次拼死

提纲:
In this argument, the author argues that the consistent consuming dairy products and milk cannot help prevent .The author also claim that the diet rich in dairy products may actually increase rather then decrease,the risk of Osteoporosis .To support these claims the author points out that there is higher rate of the condition among people who use diary products throughout the years. The author also points out that the dairy products’ strengthen the illness of the condition.  This argument depends on several unsubstantiated assumptions and is therefore unpersuasive as it stands.

In first place, the author just said the osteoporosis is a disease that is connected wit both environmental and genetic and that lead to the bones to weaken significantly with age. From here we find that these is various factor contributing to the condition.And author just assumes the milk and diary product is the main reason for the condition.。因此需要考虑多方面因素才能最后做出一个相对合理的结论。这就需要考虑年龄,以及环境,和基因因素都有关系的疾病

In the second place,the arguer said from long-term observation of a number of people and they found those people have higher rate of the condition compared with people who do not consumes diary product very often.这里需要强的是,这个人群的选定是否合理,比如,也许经常使用奶制品的人年龄比较大,这样年龄大的人随着年龄的生长更容易发生骨折。

In addition,the arguer claim that the milk and diary product will increase the rate of the condition rather than prevent it. This assumption is not fairly logical.也许这些骨折率高的人群是因为自身的原因而造成的骨折并非是喝牛奶所造成的。使用奶制品的只能是帮助预防,但并不代表就一定保证不会骨折,人为的因素并没有考虑到其中

To sum up, the conclusion lacks credibility because the evidence cited in the analysis does not lend strong support to what the arguer maintains. To strengthen the argument, the arguer would have to provide more evidence concerning the percentage of the real condition.
