PhD, Research Assistant, Research Associate in Biomedical Engineering
Multiple positions (PhD students, Research Assistant, and Research Associate) are currently available in the Neural Engineering Laboratory, School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
The candidate will focus on one of the following research topics: (1) development of advanced signal processing and pattern recognition methods for the analyses of neural signals; (2) design and implementation of assistive neural devices, such as brain-computer interface and neural prosthesis; (3) identification of functionally important and clinically relevant neural biomarkers of cognitive states and neuropathological conditions.
Candidates must have an academic university degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Neural Engineering, or a closely related field. Applicants for the position of Research Assistant must have a Master degree, and applicants for the position of Research Associate must have a PhD degree. Experience in any one of above-mentioned research topics is required, especially for applicants for the position of Research Assistant/Research Associate. Hands-on experience in EEG experiments is beneficial. Experience in clinical research with patient subjects is a plus but not strictly required.
The position of Research Assistant/Research Associate can be filled immediately and is available for initially two years with the possibility of extension.
The successful candidate will be affiliated to the School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, and under the supervision of Dr. Zhiguo Zhang. Dr. Zhang is now with the University of Hong Kong, but he will assume his new duty in Nanyang Technological University from January 2015.
