关于考官Nick

关于the worldpath

RESEARCH THIS ESSAY TOPIC
A growing number of people feel that animals should not be exploited by people and that they have the same rights as humans, while others argue that humans must employ animals to satisfy their various needs, including uses for food and research.
Discuss both views and give your opinion. Give reasons for your answers and include any relevant examples from your own experience or knowledge.
You should write at least 250 words.

In this post I will focus not on writing techniques but on the vocabulary and general knowledge you need to write about the topic.

•        As I suggested in the last post, a good place to research IELTS essay and speaking topics is   www.wikipedia.org  this is the online encyclopedia of knowledge. Have your dictionary or translation program ready to learn both the vocabulary and knowledge you need.

•        Check out the following vocabulary:
Animal rights, human rights, experiments on animals for medical and scientific purposes and for the cosmetic industry.
Think about other ways humans use animals, food, entertainment,
( e.g. in zoos )
Check out this company, BODYSHOP. Do you know their products? They are a multinational cosmetics company who are successful because they do not test their products on animals.

The Force of 1 Million Signatures
On Friday October 25th, 2013 at a dedicated event during Jakarta Fashion Week, hundreds of supporters joined The Body Shop and Cruelty Free International to celebrate collecting 1million signatures called on governments and regulators to ban animal testing in cosmetics globally.
Jessie Macneil-Brown, Global Campaigns Manager for The Body Shop International, said: “For over 20 years The Body Shop has proved that beauty can be cruelty free. One million signatures demonstrate the unwavering passion from our customers as we keep fighting for this cause.”
