学校背景：南京师范大学（211）
想申请的专业:金融类
成绩：88.92
课程：高数上下（94、88）线代：88 概率论与数理统计：99 金融核心课除了公司金融75投资学86外，都在90～95之间，无编程课程
GT：这个真心硬伤＝＝，T：94（S22) G:317（150+167+3）
科研：大创项目省级重点
获奖：都是七七八八学校的奖，校年度人物
推荐信：一个学校导师一个实习单位的推荐信（应该可以算牛推）
实习经历：一个证券公司投资部，一个交易所实习
其他：读过伯克利的暑校 gpa3.35, 海外志愿者经历

感觉美国top50, 希望都不是太大了，目前又报了两场托福。我比较在意排名的不知道能去美国哪些学校，多伦多大学有没有希望？墨尔本大学机会大不大？感觉人生的灰暗了＝＝。求大大们指点！！跪谢
另外：倾向大城市，但是没有留下来的打算毕业后应该会回国，基本不会因为学费的问题拒学校的。

I think it worth to have a few more points here:

1. I guess you know that the difference betweeen general finance (MSF) and financial engineering (MFE) is quite a big one; not only the content in the study, but also the career paths they lead to.

If you are telling me that you are not sure about the difference between the two, or there are not preference between one over the another, I will say it is a very clear and strong signal that you are not yet ready for it.

2. Perferred location of working after graduation?
This is a very very key point for choice of countries and program.

3. Budget constraint.

Personally I don't see any big problem for G, and thus no need retake, but retaking T to make it up to 100 sounds to be quite important, especially if you are going to MSF instead of MFE.

1.更倾向于msf, 只是考虑到有些学校没有开设msf而有mfe自己又比较在意排名所以就会放宽专业选择。
2.倾向大城市，但是毕业后会考虑回国工作暂时没有留下来的打算
3.学费上都可以接受

top school in US seldom offer MSF, MIT is the only exceptional
my suggestion will be: consider more school in UK, of course I mean the good one.
from LBS, LSE, Oxbridge, to IC, UCL.
for US, I guess there is around three school within top 30 (but not within S16) are offering an MSF, it worth considering too.
you may also consider the three school in HK, and maybe also NUS and SMU.

of course you may ask, what if I cannot enter this level of school, and should I go down on the ranking?
well......key point is, make sure the school is well regards back in China.......else = waste time waste $$.
