Two Research Assistant (RA) positions are available in Fall 2016 for highly motivated graduate students who are interested in pursuing a PhD (or MS) degree in Civil Engineering at University of Nebraska Lincoln (UNL). The students are expected to conduct research in Non-destructive Testing (NDT), sensing technology and sensor development, structural health monitoring, and smart materials for civil engineering structures and materials. Two potential research topics are: ultrasonic wave characterization of microcracks in concrete, and air-coupled sensing for rail track.

The UNL is a member of the Big Ten conference. The Civil Engineering department is co-located in two campuses, Lincoln and Omaha, and free shuttles between two cities are provided for engineering students.
