哎。今天一早收到了陶瓷老师的邮件

Thanks for following up. Do you know whether you'll be eligible to apply for the CSC fellowship? Although I've been impressed with your achievements and the proposal, we've received a number of outstanding applications such as yours, so your application will have a priority to be considered if you can obtain the CSC fellowship. Another reason is that your GRE scores are below the requirements, so if you have some external fellowship it'll be much easier for me to convince the admission commitee.

然而我现在是海外博一了，想换个学校重新念博士。我好像不符合CSC的条件吧，这样就基本把我婉拒了吧。

蛋疼，就只申了这一个学校。哎哎哎哎哎哎

海外博一，指的是自费博一，然后申请学费资助把后面的3年cover掉

我现在在香港博一了，想换学校重新开始，不符合那个规定了

陶瓷到了一个藤校。。还是蛮想过去吧

港校，感觉跟内地那几个顶尖的比也没优势了

Never go with CSC.
Lots of bullshit requirement, especially if you need to apply for J1 instead of F1 visa.

You need to go back after your study (no postdoc possible unless in very rare situations), and need to stay in China for two full years. Before this, you can not apply for work visa (H1b) or green card.

Thanks for your updates. At this point, I'm not certain you will be admitted without a CSC fellowship--preferences will be given for those who apply for the fellowship. I hope you'll understand this.

lz是什么方向的？我也在香港，现在申请到了美国phd。感觉通常都不会走csc，lz要不试着给老师发邮件说，不管有没有钱（csc或者学校的funding），先给个admission，钱的事后面后面在慢慢考虑，总会有办法的吧。good luck！

AD太恐怖了。

我认识好几个在伯克利拿AD然后去了的，第二年还在自费，简直了
