一直都是潜水状态，想问问论坛里的前辈们有没有对这个项目比较了解的呀，包括读博士和工作的情况，我之前发邮件问小米，只能选择经济系的课程，所以去学校多选CS、stat、finance相关课程的计划应该不是很现实。目前还有BU的经济学录取，我应该怎么选择？以后的目标是找投行的工作（香港或回国），或者有机会留在国外的话进哪些行业机构的可能性比较大？本人学渣一枚，对未来的规划还不是很明确，只是知道自己不想学习太理论的东西，想学一些实用的技能为找工作做准备。

I also applied for some statistic programs, however the results are not very ideal and my parents don't want me to wait for another one year. If I can choose as many as statistic and CS courses, can it be a compensation for my economics master degree?

well....time is limited, e.g. in BU MA econ, you have the 4 core econ course, and the 4 electives are likely to be econ related too, I guess you will be interested to ask how flexible is that.

I also got the admission from Duke actually, but the tuition is so high, so I also don't think it's a good choice. Must I apply for a phd degree related to Economics, like finance after my graduation if I want to have advantages over master students from other majors like stat and mfe? I feel I have went into a dilemma and I don't know how to get out. Or should I directly go to the GWU stat program although it's not good enough?

I guess the very first question is indeed: what type of role you want (e.g. in a bank)?

I want to find a job related to data analysis, risk management, statistical modeling or consulting. I don't know weather it is possible if I choose Econ as my major. The most ideal situation for me is to find a job in US.

if you had read some historical placement of Duke MA Econ.........you will realized that it is the most suitable, but also the most expensive choice.......

Thank you for your suggestions. I think the tuition worth it if I could find a job in US after my graduation. May be the chance is bigger if I choose as many as CS and stat courses.
