Sept 1, 2016

I don't know why I choose it to be a english edition, maybe just create an opportunity to improve my english or torture myself, or pretend to a big one like many people would think. Anyway, it doesn’t matter.

I am a postgraduate student in CityU this year(2106) and I've been here about one week, during which I satisfied most of daily needs by myself. Surprised about everything happened around me, which are coupled with energy and nice vision of future life, and of course kind of appreciation about social order and behaviour are included. After experiencing two days of high-priced diet in HK, I begin to penetrate my daily life into CityU, where I found sth is as follows:

1. low cost for eating,which is a big pleasure;
2. beautiful scene everywhere, especially in AC one, which is able to satisfy nearly all the needs we need;
3. high-tech service facilities and considerate workers with courtesy;
4. so many beautiful girls and etc…….

Unfortunately, as the fresh things passed, some kind of loneness came to me even some classes had begun. The point is that I even can not get any information about the possible reasons. what a tragedy !

Along those days, I always prefer to try to get a better command of local and foreign cultural, which may take a long time. It means the proficiency of english and cantonese is crucial and I will be strong  on this way to get what I want in HK. Wish it to be done in future.

By now, the fourth day in semester A(2016/2017), I've attended two official classes, one cantonese class, one lecture of a beautiful professor from Chicago, two workshops offered by SDS and some introduction programmes offered by the library. Without any doubt, many local students take big advantages over us  in communication as most of them are able to speak english, cantonese and mandarin at any given time. And teachers and workers are so friendly and responsible that I did learn a lot.  But what I have to say is that I also can feel some kind of disrespect for students from mainland China(of course it is personal) which really upset me heavily while I was always trying to ignore that.

I also found that local people usually can enjoy and embrace their actions or what they are doing, which most of we mainland guys don't have. And they often pretty confident such that a more charming influence comes out from their behaviours. Things I have to learn instantly.

Plus, I got to know that some high schools in HK don’t offer mandarin courses,which surprised me to some degree, especially after coming back to China about twenty years, as a result of communication with local undergraduate student.

At the end, I don’t know why I write this which is useless, maybe just aims to complaint about sth about my life now. In spite of all of that, I also must wish myself to get more what I want and pass away this period of  tough time ASAP in CityU.
