secondhand testimony不是需要推测么？

我是这样理解的：second-hand testimony二手的证据，而不是基于自身实验观察得来的证据，类似于道听途说来的消息/传闻，基本等同于anecdote了，跟推不推测没关系，属于张嘴就来的那种。而科研则需要严谨假设，推测。
人们常说的乌鸦会喝咖啡，报恩就是基于各种传闻（而不是严谨的科学调查），因而会被认为是都市传说，而不是科学结论。

second-hand testimony 是需要推测，但原文说的是second-hand testimony 属于推测，这不是一回事儿。

而且，第二空要注意rather than science. 最好的对应是anecdote. 我觉得speculation 和hypothesis都可以是science的，而anecdote 肯定不是science.

我之前没见过这道题，但我首先做的是第二空，再往回做的第一空。
