64. Some people prefer to work for themselves or own a business. Others prefer to work for an employer. Would you rather be self-employed, work for someone else, or own a business? Use specific reasons to explain your choice.
Asked me which employment is better, my response must be the boilerplate answer: it’s up to people themselves for both employments have merits as well as weaknesses. Being self-employed means more benefit and risks while it provides a relatively stable career with less payment when working for others.
I, myself, tend to work for my own. To begin with, Owning a company provides me with more opportunities of getting know and collaborating with different social classes. I’m exactly that kind of person who’s adept in communication and socialization. On one hand, I could be an ideal leader, encouraging my subordinates to work more efficiently and giving them comfort and inspiration when they’re down. On the other hand, I’m also able to maintain a mutual-beneficial relationship with my collaborative partners. More significantly, it makes it possible for me to make decisions, judgements and strategies according to my own comprehension of the domestic and global market, which requires a sharp, sensitive and detective mind. Another crucial perspective that’s not supposed to be overlooked is that being self-employed is the fastest way to fortune. Compared to a relatively stable career, it entitles me to distribute all the profit we gained, then I would be more likely to do what I yearn to do. I’ve always held a dream to have my own helicopter and fly over the Atlantic ocean.
Apart from those desirable aspects, there’re also numerous shortcomings. Running a company by myself also brings high risks. Provided that I made a terrible decision that’re not consistent with the market, I could even be broke overnight, while after that, most of the employees would come and blame me. However, I suppose myself a strong-willed person who can cope with success as well as defeat.
As a result, I prefer to run my own company as I’m perfectly suitable to be a leader. However, there’re still myriad obstacles and impediment on my way to initiate my own business.
