标题: 香港新加坡 Econ BA MFE 求定位 [打印本页]

3段实习，银行，500强，和一个行业内领袖（属于marketing的吧做的和data有一点关系）；2个科研经历均无论文发表；1个商赛全国冠军；小奖学金、社团
就业导向，其实比较希望申NUS，但是又没什么适合我的专业。港大和科大的BA都是今年新项目，不知道香港的BA好不好呀？我本科是工商管理，没什么数学和编程背景，数学成绩都有点低，除了线代91其他都只82左右，唉，这个背景也是高不成低不就的。。。求定位！

必须nus啊。
香港的金融市场这几年收到内地经济放缓的影响，逐渐停滞不前了。
而且香港市场更靠给内地ipo，新加坡更靠衍生物，BA这种专业更适合新加坡。

打电话问过港科BA，说是不太会考虑会计的。。工商管理也一样吧。他requirement里面说的operating management应该指定管理科学与工程。而且看了那高大上的课程设置，感觉没有数理背景的毕业有点困难。

this (not considering those without a related background) should be the case for any serious business analytics program, because one cannot handle the study at all without the right background.

if this requirement can be waived, that means they are going to make the material easier than the normal standard (when compared to master of other schools), and you can imagine the effect of lowering the standard on job searching.

Math/stat/OR/Phy/CS/some other Engineering is for sure enough. Normally, things like economics, BBA Info sys, BBA operation management will be also marginally ok, but not for things like accounting, management and marketing.

tough......well, let's compare it with BDT in the engineering school then......

BBA is for those who plan to work right after the bachelor, instead of preparation for further studies.
if one realized that one really want a master after entering BBA, there is still a 2nd choice: get a 2nd major / minor in math/stat/CS/whatever, or something similarly quantitative.

if one didn't do that, well, their future career are most likely far away from the quantitative (or even analytical) stuffs anyway.
