120.so much is new and complex today that looking back for an understanding of the past provides little guidance for living in the present.

Human being all live on the basis of history, which brought in what mankind possess, what the society be, and what people are pursing today. Admittedly, the development of high technology and information that make recent society new and complicated has been far beyond its level in history. However, in my opinion, many aspects in history play significant role in guidance of today.

To begin with, theories of various disciplines derive from those experiences and experiments in history and are still guiding present researches. Knowledge is a continuous matter. Once a theory is established, it will be exerted in practice and extent out relative ones. It is true that some previous theories are incorrect or some knowledge is obsolete. Nevertheless , the process of rectifying those skeptic theories and of improving old knowledge is a behavior that people’s retrospect on the past. In reality, a bound of researches and learning today are based on the understanding of past theories. For example, the famous three laws of Newton consequently affect realms of mathematics, physics, and so on, generation by generation. Although present science and techniques have developed to a high level, no scientist can deny that he has studied Newton’s laws in his elementary courses and his researches must obey these laws. In this case, history has created a certain permanent masses that successively affect subsequent generations.

What is more, history like a mirror , study of which pullbacks people from detour. In history, ancestors left offspring numerous experiences. Though people nowadays may be more knowledgeable and advanced, they are all no more human beings than people before. humankind  is endowed with the nature of making mistakes, while what people could do is to avoid similar mistakes others have made For example, before 1980’s ,China applied the system of planned economy, which had ever fitted for the nation’s situation but later severely encumbered its development. Government in China today choose the system of market economy instead of planned economy, just because they learnt the lesson from the past. Provided that politicians have no retrospect on the previous case, how they can know that which method adapts to the development of Chinese economy? Is it only through their imagination?

Besides, regarding the society of human being as a whole, mankind should learn of themselves to know how to maintain and foster their advancement. For this respect , people can study from the history knowing what should do and what not to. As an example, pollution people chronically committed has led to series of aftermaths, such as the distinction of some genes, greenhouse effect, desertification, breakage of ozone, all of which threaten human’s lives to different extents. Deforestation have caused large flood, killing lots of people; greenhouse effect led to the raise of the planet’s average temperature, which make berg to melt resulting in the reduction of  continents’ proportion . Another example is the tragedy of Guangdao Event in 1900’s, when nuclear weapon killed thousands of people and bought wicked impact on those survivals in their life time. Human then learnt that nuclear weapons menace their lives, even till today politicians are calling for bans on using such weapons. If people ignore looking back to these malebehaviors and their influences, they will not make corresponding strategies to prevent people from doing so.

To sum up ,history left mankind abundant experiences and lessons which help today’s generation avoid those negative. What is more, history left us many valuable heritages that we should inherit to develop further. After all, mankind is born from history, which provide guidance for living in present new and complex time.

Though people nowadays may be more knowledgeable and advanced, they are all no more human beings than people before.这句话我是想说虽然现在的人知识比以前丰富，但他们毕竟还是人。所以都会反错误。不知应该怎样表达呢？
