Q: The CO-OP program need a GPA of 3.5, does it needs more conditions? And how many students can achieve this requirement usually?
A: No other conditions as long as your GPA is of 3.5 or above and maintain a good academic standing. For example, early in the past fall semester, out of about 10 students enrolled in the spring semester of last year (we have fewer students in the spring than in the fall), about 7 were eligible and applied for the co-op. They all had interviews scheduled and most of them had multiple interviews, and 3 landed a co-op job eventually.
Q: The CO-OP program is really great and it is an important reason for me to choose NEU, but what I don't know and want to know is, the students of Econ program can take interns in which kind of companies or which companies? And the interns are all in Boston or in any other areas?
A: These are some of the past co-op placements:
Research Assistant, Boston Planning and Development Agency
Revenue Assurance, Eversource
Clinic Administrative Operations, Tufts University Dental School
Actuarial Risk Analyst, Guy Carpenter
Pension Analyst, Willis Towers Watson
HR/Budget Assistant, Attorney General of Commonwealth of MA
