There is no agreed definition of intelligence. Gardner (1983), one of the world’s foremost authorities on intelligence, defines it as “the ability to solve problems, or to create products, that are valued within one or more cultural settings”. To some, the concept of IQ testing immediately comes up when they hear the word “intelligence”.
In this talk, we will examine the concept of intelligence, and the wisdom of relying too much on measures of intelligence in employee selection process.
