Laboratory for Artificial Intelligence in Design (AiDLab), a research operation initiated by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) is the world’s first research platform that focuses on artificial intelligence (AI) and design innovations. The AiDLab located at the Hong Kong Science Park, has a mission to be the leader of interdisciplinary AI and design innovations and research that will create positive impact on global design industry, contribute to the wider economy, and improve quality of life.

Duties
The appointees will assist the project leader in the research project “Negative-mood reduction among HK youth with robot PAL (Personal Avatar for Life)”
Qualifications
Applicants for Postdoctoral Fellow post 1 should have a PhD degree in Computing, Physics, Mathematics or related disciplines, and have proven capabilities in affective computing (i.e. quantum-computing approaches), and must have no more than three years of post-qualification experience at the time of application. Applicants for Postdoctoral Fellow post 2 should have a PhD degree in Computing, Physics, Mathematics or related disciplines, and have proven capabilities in computational linguistics with a focus on Theory of Mind and epistemic modules, and must have no more than three years of post-qualification experience at the time of application.
Applicants for Scientific Programmer (Research Fellow) post 3 should have a PhD degree in Computing, Physics, Mathematics or related disciplines, and have proven capabilities in one or more of the following areas: scientific programming, software engineering, system management, distributed systems, embedded systems, Internet of Things, (blockchain) security.
Applicants for Scientific Programmer (Research Fellow) post 4 should have a PhD degree in Computing, Physics, Mathematics, Cognitive Science, or related disciplines, and have proven capabilities in scientific programming, artificial intelligence, preferably machine learning, (deep) neural networks, fuzzy logics.
Applicants for Scientific Programmer (Research Fellow) post 5 should have a PhD degree in Computing, Physics, Mathematics, Linguistics or related disciplines, and have proven capabilities in scientific programming, artificial intelligence, preferably Natural Language Processing or Natural Language Understanding.
Applicants for the Research Assistant post should have a bachelor’s honors degree in Computing or related disciplines, preferably with an orientation on computational linguistics and text mining. [Post is filled]
For all posts, applicants should also have:
a) Programming skills, preferably C++,#, Python, Java, Linux operating systems
b) Knowledge about empirical research, experimental design, advanced statistics (e.g., structural equation modeling, multivariate analysis of variance)
