Dr. Zili Li is a permanent Lecturer above the merit bar (equivalent to tenured assistant professor in the US system) in Civil / Geotechnical Engineering at University College Cork. Dr. Li holds a PhD in Engineering from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor in Civil Engineering from Tongji University in China. He is the Theme Leader in Geotechnics of Civil Engineering Research Association of Ireland (CERAI). He has established wide international research collaborations with many academic institutions and companies including: Cambridge University, UC Berkeley, CERN, Transportation Infrastructure Ireland (TII), London Underground, Gavin & Doherty Geosolutions (GDG) and etc.
Currently, he is mentoring a Marie Curie IRC Fellowship Postdoc, supervising 2 research master students and 6 PhDs at UCC.
