Prof. Wan Du from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of California (UC) Merced is looking for a postdoc researcher and two Ph.D. students who can start in January 2024. The postdoc and Ph.D. students are free to work on any research topics on Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT), such as Reinforcement Learning for building management, low-power wide area networking, and mobile computing. All the UC campuses including Berkeley and Merced offer the same compensation packet to the postdoc and graduate students. The annual salary for the postdoc researcher is $66868, plus insurance and benefits. The Ph.D. student's initial salary (level 0) is $35013, plus insurance.

Bio: Wan Du is an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at UC Merced since 2017. He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Lyon, France, and worked as a research fellow at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. His research is mainly focused on Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT). His current research interests include reinforcement learning, LoRa networking, and sensor data processing on smart Devices. He has published prolifically in refereed journals and conference proceedings, such as IEEE/ACM ToN, IEEE TMC, ACM MobiCom, IEEE INFOCOM, and ACM SenSys. He received NSF CAREER Award 2023, ACM SenSys 2015 Best Paper Award, ACM BuildSys 2020 Best Paper Runner-Up Award, and IEEE DCOSS-IoT Best Paper Runner-Up Award.
