题目
Practicality is now our great idol, which all powers and talents must serve. Anything that is not obviously practical has little value in today's world.

正文
The author claims that practicality is the great idol and all powers and talents must sever it. What is more, anything without obvious practice has little value today. I tend to disagree with what he says. Although practicality is important, and what people should sever, it is the only criterion of the value.

Practicality plays a key role in people's lives, since anything without practicality will be hardly accepted. Without practicality, anything with effective support of theories can do nothing but thwart the development of the society. The experience of China is a case in point. After war, Chinese Chairman Mao processed the planned economic all over China, which was supported well by Marxism. However, the planned economic was not viable since China has not developed enough yet. At last, the market economic is accepted in China, and the practice testifies that it is the only way through which China can develop.

Nevertheless, practice cannot be the only criterion of the value of everything. When we face some difficulties that require us to give up our principles and surround to the practice, it is not always recommended for us to do so. Consider a general was catched by the enemies; he would live if he told the secret of his army to his enemies. However, it is against his duty as a soldier. He may not be scalded or punished but the practicality here is not the only thing he should consider. Or consider a man has little money to live no to say support his family and could not find any job even though he has tried his best, should he steal or rob from others? In this case, not only the principle but also the law will prevent him from doing so.

Further more, there are things without obvious practice but indeed are practical and with great value. If we do not value them because of the unobvious practice, we will lose a lot. When Einstein first published the Theory of Relativity, everyone regarded him mad since they could not understand it and thought it unpractical at all. At that time, no one can imagine that it will bring the great revolution to the field of science and technology, but it is valuable. It is hard for us to predict the value of many inventories and ideas of science and society alike, whether we understand them or not.

In sum, we must underscore practicality but must not consider it as the only way to evaluate everything, and we should not give up things which seem unpractical without thinking it thoroughtly.

Beginning in the mid-1950s chairman Mao advocated the rapid formation of agricultural communes, arguing that the energy of the people could help China achieve a high tide of Communist development. This ideology exploded in the Great Leap Forward in 1958. Mao called upon all Chinese to engage in zealous physical labor to transform the economy and overtake the West in industrial and agricultural production within a few years. Afraid to disappoint their leaders, peasants falsified grain production numbers. Several poor harvests caused massive famine and the deaths of millions of people throughout China.

consider a man has little money to live no[t] to say support his family[,] and he could not find any job even though he has tried his best,

还是有点问题,应该是consider a man who has little money to live on and support his family,

According to pragmatism, he can conserve his life if he told the enemies the military secrets of his troops, but that do damage his work ethic as a soldier.
