In the article, the result of study on consumer responses is that most volunteers feel marked improvement in their skin by using Luxess. Basing on this result the author makes the conclusion that Luxess is effective in improving the condition of facial skin. It's obvious that the conclusion hasn't been made prudently, and there are doubtful aspects about the result of study.
First, the number of volunteers participating in the study hasn't been mentioned, the result of study will be incredible if the number is too limited. For example, if three people participate in the study and two of them advocate that they feel marked improvement in skin, the result of study may be invalid to a wider range of people.
The Second, the time range of the study is not long enough to illustrate the effect of Luxess. It's well known that people's skin will feel much different in different seasons, the feeling will change due to the changes of temperature, atmosphere pressure, the humidity of area and whether there is wind. It's possible that the weather has changed much in the period of study, and this makes people feel improvement in skin condition. Owing to the periodical changes of weather, the study should last a longer period, like one year or several years.
The third, lacking of quantitative analysis about result of study, the result is carried out from volunteers' qualitative report of a marked improvement. It's probable that the use of Luxess has led to psychological changes of the volunteers, which makes them imagine a marked improvement in their skin condition, whereas Luxess hasn't brought about any actual improvements in fact. More quantitative analysis, for instance, to what extent the skin condition has been improved, should be made in order to make the result of study more convincing.
Finally, there may be many other effects rather than the use of Luxess that improve volunteers' facial skin condition. For example, some of the volunteers may never use mild soap when they wash faces, so the improvements are probably caused by mild soap rather than Luxess; some of the volunteers may spend more time indoor during the period of study because they are having vacation and stay home for a month; some volunteers may pay more attention to their diet when participating in the study. In order to draw any conclusion about effects of Luxess, the study should be carried out diminishing other factors' effects.
In summary, the result of study about Luxess is unconvincing and the author fails to provide sufficient evidences to support his conclusion. He should pay more attention to the study about Luxess by avoiding other factors that may affects the result of study beside the use of Luxess and find more quantitative data through the study.作者: guesser198414 时间: 2005-7-24 21:35:33
