The author claims that without outsiders bring their knowledge and experience, filed of study can not advance. I agree with this point. Every thing has a various relation with each other.
First of all, no filed of study can develop itself without other experience and knowledge. Every filed of study’s development is base on some other knowledge. For example, if people want to research cultural relic, they must learn art, history, language, and custom about the relic which they want to research. And they must learn how to write a good paper which can make a lot of people understand their research. Another example is physics. It is obviously that many physical scientists are mathematicians, because physics often need mathematics to solve its problems. Expressions of physics need mathematics to express their means. If Newton does not learn mathematics, he can not give the law of gravitation.
Second, in this era of rapid social and technological change leading to each field of study grows many special subjects, and various crossed subjects appear. The crossed subjects often take advantage about different science, and improve scientific development. For example, biological information is a subject about biology and computer. People, who want to research it, must learn biology and computer science. When they settle biological problem, they should know the key about the problem with theory of biology, and then, design a program to solve it. They should give data about biological examination to prove result form the computer is right. So, the progress about biological information would lead biology and computer science developing.
However, it is very important that researchers should study their own field careful. If they only learn other fields of science and do not care their own field, they can not make it advance. Other fields of science just are tools about their research science. A clever researcher must learn most things from different areas, and uses them into his/her own subject.
