three solid cubes of lead each with edges 10 centimeters long, are melted together in a level, rectangular-shaped pan. the base of the pan has inside dimensions of 20 centimeters by 30 centimeters, and the pan is 15 centimeters deep, if the volume of the solid lead is approximately the same as th volume of the melted lead, approximately how many centimeters deep is the melted lead in the pan?

答案是7。5，请问是怎么计算的，多谢

熔化后的体积跟固体的体积 approximately the same, 所以熔化后的体积是 10^3 * 3 = 3000, 锅的长宽分别是20,30,然后用3000/(20*30)得出锅里的东东的高度.
但是有个疑问:deep是指这个东东的高度呢?还是锅边到这个东东表面的距离呢??
而且如果按我这样算,两种答案都不是7.5哦,望赐教

3000/20/30=5,楼主的答案错了!

看错答案了吧，是5。
10*10*10*3/(20*30)=3000/600=5

但是有个疑问:deep是指这个东东的高度呢?还是锅边到这个东东表面的距离呢??
deep是指融化在锅里的lead的高度。

我考古了。。。题目里有句话很不理解，and the pan is 15 centimeters deep，这个deep是什么意思？跟最后问的deep怎么个联系法？

我还是觉得这个题还是有点歧义。那个HOW MANY CENTIMETERS DEEP IS THE MELTED LEAD IN THE PAN?我看来可以理解成LEAD在PAN 的边沿下多深啊。
