The physist rightly dreads precise argument, since an argument that si convincing only if it is precise leads all its force if the assumptions on which it is based are slightly changed, where as an argument that is convincing though imprecise may well be stable under small perturbations of its underlying assumptions.

It is only because of the enormous unterstellar distance that so little material per unit of volume becomes so significant.

请大家多多指教，想了很久都觉得不知道怎么解释。。。:)

物理学家不喜欢精确的论断，如果论断建立在精确之上，那么一旦他的基础稍微变他就会影响到它的效力。然而一个论断是建立在不精确之上的那么它将保持稳定尽管基础有些变化。

上面是对第一句话的大概解释，表一下意思。其实这句话是在杨鹏的那句教程上有的。

第二句：
只是因为星际之间的非常大的距离，使得每分体积中很小的物质变得很可观。
意思是, 单位体积中物质很少，但空间很大总量也就多了。

我们老师说，GRE 难句要在之后看，所以我先看得GMAt 的部分，要看了。。。
