To consider an investment as a good one or a worthful one, one of the criteria is whether the investor could receive more or equal amount of benefit from it. Money spent on research (researches) is one of the best worthful investments, not only due to its great interests and progress from the successful projects, but also the experiences derived from those controversial or even failed ones.
Undoubtedly, those successful researches do directly benefit those investors very much, and then the society and our whole human beings. The invention of TNT, for example, is one of the most important inventions in the 20th century. It did not only create a hero figure, Mr. Nobel, the founder of world-known Nobel Prize for excellent scientists, but also greatly improve (improved) the development of the heavy industry, and the peace of the whole economy. With the advent of TNT, the manual mining tools has been replaced by the powerful white powder, gold, corps, coal and the like has been transported to every factory around the world, and indirectly provoke (provoked) the first Industry Revolution. With the great improvement of working, it also changes the pattern of people's daily life. Millions of people has (have) ended up their easy life as a farmer(farmers), and taken part in the workers in the mechanical times. In some aspects, it is such successful researches that create large amount of interests and promote the development of our human beings.(这一段是说成功的科学研究都会给人们带来好处,举例很详细)
However, besides the successful researches, those on-going and controversial ones are not such bad things. The most important aspect (复数)of research means the investigation(复数) on the unknown world, especially the principles and rules hidden behind thousands of complex phenomena. During such investigation, serious arguments, strong queries, and other forms of questions are non-ignorable. Therefore, it is normal for a research to be somehow controversial. In another word, if a research is no longer controversial before its success, it is either a truth needed no further research, or a fatefully unsuccessful one. (最好举个例子吧,否则这段会显得过短了)
Rather than those successful researches, the controversial research (这里用复数比较好吧) perhaps contains much more opportunities. At its very advent, the research on double helix structure of DNA, for instance, has provoked a great amount of argument and pray. Most expects do not believe its truth and meaning for such
(1) 举了诺贝尔的例子
(2) 举了DNA的例子
感觉举例方面做的很不错,不过语言方面还要再加强一下.不管怎么样把文章写完吧,很佩服你啊,我至今都不敢在写作的时候计时J |
