This argument is not cogent because it assumes that the games, which provide lifelike graphics, will make profit in the next few months. The speaker who try to persuade us to believe that the age-group(10-25) like the video games, but there are other factors which the speaker was not considerate.

First of all, the speaker have no evidence to indicate that players 10-25 years old will buy such games like Whirlwind. It is true that the age group (10-25 years old) most likely to play games. Most of them, however, which have no economic supporting, for instance, some players, may study in the primary school or middle school. If they want to buy it, they will ask their parents to get the money, or they cannot easy to get the games. Even if they make money by themselves, this does not mean that they will buy the games which provide lifelike graphics. There are amounts of other games may attract them. For example, the RPG games which are different from the video ones are also popular, and if the games have an outstanding image technology, but fail to build a wonderful plot, players will not like it.

We might also ask: Even though players like the video games and want to take these, will the sales of Whirlwind video games increase dramatically in the future? It is hard to say. Maybe there are avalanches of companies like Whirlwind, these companies have more advanced technology and money, such as they have a technology which helps people not play the games in the most up-to-date computers, or they spend much more money to propagandize their production than Whirlwind do. So the argument fails to proof Whirlwind will make profits.

Furthermore, the survey implies that the players prefer games that provide lifelike graphics, which require the most up-to-date computers. But we know nothing about how many players have the most sophisticated machines, and we also have no idea that what is the most up-to-date computer meaning, in other words, we lack of details to understand the concept, such as how much money we will pay the computers, or which component is more important to lead to the computers become advanced.

In conclusion, any survey questions must have more reasonable and direction. The editorial fails to do that.
