艺术类真不好写呀,名字不会拼,而且想半天时间就不够了~只些了两个分论点。。
TOPIC: ISSUE144 - "It is the artist, not the critic,* who gives society something of lasting value."
*a person who evaluates works of art, such as novels, films, music, paintings, etc.

According to the speaker, artist seemly gives more lasting value to our society than critic does. I fundamentally agree with the claim because great art creations are the fortunes of the society and the value of them will last for a long period. Nevertheless, critics who evaluate works of art may also make contributions to correct some people's mistaken evaluations, though it is sometimes too objective. Thus, both artists and critics will make contribution for the lasting value of works of art.

First of all, we have to admit that the lasting value of a great art work is surely brought by those greatest artists of the world. For example, Van go, who lived a poor life till his death created a great number of painting works which was evaluated as nothing when he is alive. But strikingly, few years after his death, his works were then famous all over the world and left an amazing fortune to the field of art. We can never deny that it is Van go who contribute the lasting value to the society. Moreover, although most of the critics at first treated Eiffel tower as a monster in Paris, it gradually became a symbol of Paris and France-even an amazing architecture in the world. It is true that critics’ evaluation will affect the value of the arts. However, the real value in the art works can never be ignored as time goes by.

Admittedly, critics' evaluation will sometimes lead to a direction for people to make a correct estimate on a work. a fitting example of which is evaluating films. Some art films are created with special art methods and express a obscure meaning which can hardly be understood by Audience. Only after the professional evaluation by critics could audience notice the value of the film. Without any evaluations of critics, the lasting value maybe overlooked because of the misunderstanding of the art. Although some critics will evaluate an art work subjectively, the critics still provide some professional suggestions to evaluate an art work more correctly. Thus, critics also contribute to the art works lasting value of a society.

In the final analysis, it is undoubted that it is artists who create the art works and give a lasting value to our society; that is why we still appreciate to those greatest artists and their works which bring a great art fortune to society. We may be unlikely to remember any critics; however, we should not ignore their contribution to the value of art works, without which we actually must have lost some valuable art works.

Issue144  "It is the artist, not the critic, who gives society something of lastingvalue."

The speaker asserts that artist gives society something of lastingvalue rather than critic. I agree with him insofar as something of lastingvalue is weighted by the true value that contained in the art itself, not by money and other material things. The following analysis will illustrate my viewpoint.

First of all, it is necessary to define clear what the lastingvalue means. A        s far as I am concerned, the lastingvalue means the value contained in art that will has long and effective influence on the whole society. Under such occasion, it is obvious that artist gives the society something of lastingvalue because artist who has a sense of inovation creates art. No artist, no art. And if there is no art, the exsist of critic has no means. Take painters for example, if we make a assumption that some famous painters did not choose painting as their career; in other word, the outstanding works created by them were not exsist. The critic would have no works to judge, to critics, let alone giving the society something of lastingvalue.

On the other hand, the uniqueness of artist plays an vital role in giving the society something of lastingvalue. The works that may cause great affect on the society and people's way of judging things are always unique. You can never produce such works on the assemble-line, as well as their influence. For instance, the smell of monaliza is unique, so the attract of the painting is uncomparable. With so many unique works, the society would have a variety of lastingvalue given by the artists and can not be copyed.

Otherwize, we must concede that critic also acts as an important part in transmitting and explaining art to normal people because not everyone will truly understand the meaning contained in the art. At this time, just like the relationship between ad. and goods, critic provides a opportunity for normal people to have a general understanding of art. So critic not only makes art spread more broader but also brings out value of art that weighted by money or other material things.

To sum up, granted that critic gives art some value weighted by money which may inspire artist to create more valuable works, it is truly that the artist gives the society something of lastingvalue based on the artist's inovation and uniqueness.
