被check(May26), Mantis Clearance received from Washington D.C.(June21), 接到使馆电话(June 25),

去使馆交passport和I-20(June26), 领到签证(June28)

Consular Official: Good morning, how are you?

Me: I am great, thanks, how are you today?

CO: I am good, thanks, so you are a second year Ph.D. student at XXX?

Me: Yes, but I have dropped the program at XXX in April 2007 since my former supervisor and I have not

decided my thesis topic by the end of last year, it would be more likely to take very long time to complete

the program if I continue to study the program, so I talked to him, and he has agreed me going to drop the

program. In May, I have found a Professor posted a Ph.D. fellowship online, he was looking for a new

qualified Ph.D. student for one of his ongoing projects, currently, he has two postdoc fellows, and one

Ph.D. student, his Ph.D. student is going to graduate in July. He sent the research proposal to me, I was

quite interested about it, so I sent off my resume, and papers to him, he offered me the fellowship, he

expects I can complete the program within three years because of my undergo reserach experience, here is

the support letter from him.

CO: Can I see your I-20 form?

Me: Of course,

CO: Thanks,

Me: No problem,

CO: So what is the project you are going to conduct?

Me: We are going to develop a validated computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model of cigarette

smoke transport and deposition in the respiratory tract. It will be better diagnose and treat respiratory

diseases such as lung cancer, asthma. Computational research on respiratory dynamics.

CO: There are involved some physical problems?

Me: That is correct.

CO: Your application is fine, but we will process the case further, please bring this sheet(further

administrtive processing), and go to the window 11, it is the upper left corner of the second window, a lady

will talk to you for further details.

Me: ok, Thank you, have a good day,

CO: Thanks, you too.

去另一个窗口．．．

Lady: for Further processing?

Me: yes,

Lady: Please fill out this form, and let me know when you are done? Also I need the support letter from the

Professor.

Me: ok, here you go,

Lady: Thank you,

Me: You welcome, here is the form, so that is all?

Lady: Yes, and we will contact you once the processing is complete, it will takes about 2-4 weeks. Hmm,

your writing is barely to read..., let me see if I can read...戴上了眼镜．．．

Me: Sorry for that, is that ok?

Lady: Hmm, should be fine, aww, the last thing, you wanna contact you by phone or email?

Me: Phone would be the best. You can leave a voicemail if I am not free.

Lady: Ok,

Me: Thanks alot, have a nice day,

Lady: thanks, you too.

Me: Bye

总结：如实回答，签证官应该没有什么理由拒绝，如果真是想读书。还要谢谢一位妹妹帮我领护照
