如果一个目标是值得的，那么追求目标的任何手段都是正当的。

The speaker asserts that all means are justifiable to obtain a worthy goal which is totally wrong in my perspective. The function of impetus though the statement maybe serve, we cannot lose the sight of the complex essence of "worthy" as well as the restriction we must put on the specific methods.

Turn first to the definition of "worthy". Due to different people, distinct positions each individual holds, variable circumstances and so forth, it is generally hard to say which goal is valuable. Maybe the food for you is the poison for other people. Take Napoleon as example, his ambition of conquer the whole European Continent is very meaningful for himself and his fellow men, but brings blooding, warfare and killings, namely a nightmare to those suffered people. Undoubtedly, Napoleon ended up with a fiasco by which we harvest a valuable notion that a goal set upon others' adversity, eventually, will turn out to be a disaster for you own.
   

Providing a substantially worthy goal being there, we cannot just carry out it without analyzing its feasibility and valuation. For instance, a person, who is crippled, has an aim of reaching the top of Everest and prepares to obtain it by himself. This goal is greatly worthy for him indeed, we can, however, just courage him at the spiritual level, for it is recognized to be a daydream in reality. To balance, no matter how meaningful those goals are, nor can make sense without the view of ability and valuation.  

Turning next to the means by which we gain our yearning aspiration. For one hand, it is true that some ways taken to attain it is justifiable, though under other conditions is improper. To disguise a patient’s incurable disease is sometimes called a white lie, though the behavior of deception is unseemly. For the purpose of our children's further success, we tend to force them cram in large amount of knowledge and take more focus on academic promotion, but more or less ignore the cultivating of personality and interests. To an extent, people carry a good original intention, whereas leads to some negative consequences. As we know, everything can be a blessing also a curse. Necessary by-products adverse results may be, we must try our best to choose a best way to reach our goals.

For another hand, we cannot deny the fact that there are actually some unjustifiable, even evil means of pursuit. At the mercy of money, enterprises try every method desperately to maximize profits even through escaping tax, evil competition and counterfeit products. Students prefer cheat more than their own endeavor, for the purpose of getting a better examination performance. The behaviors mentioned above are illegal and immoral for which they would pay a large price at the end. In addition, when things go to an extreme, they also become ineffective and unjustifiable. As a case of allege of environmental extremists to close all the factories at the expense of economic collapse. All the examples illustrates that not every mean is the way to the success, and we must to elect carefully.

As far as I am concerned, the statement is presumptuous for the neglect of many factors. When we make a goal and plan a blue print, profits of other individuals and the society must be taken to consideration seriously, not to mention perpetually legal and moral restrictions.
