153 "Students should bring a certain skepticism to whatever they study. They should question what they are taught instead of accepting it passively."
无论学生们学习什么都应该带着一定的疑问。学生们应该质疑老师教授的东西而不只是被动的接受。(教育问题之学而好问==)
When asked about whether the students should bring a certain skepticism to whatever they study or just accept the knowledge what they are taught passively, people may find it hard to come to consensus due to their different experience and view. The speaker thinks that the students should question what they are taught instead of accepting it passively. While others just provide the opposite view. From my perspective, I fundamentally agree with the speaker.
Firstly, no one can deny that the knowledge and theory in education is established by former and it is very important to learn from it which is the foundation of the new knowledge and theory. We need the former knowledge and, in this way, we can do more contributions to education theory. Just like many composers listen symphonies of Beethoven and they think that they can acquire inspiration from it. After them listening Beethoven’s symphonies, they know more about how to compose a tone. As to education, we know more about established knowledge and we have done well to new knowledge at the same time.
Secondly, only by question continually can we learn the core and essence of knowledge.
For instance, the famous Einstein-Bohr Debate on determinacy-indeterminacy of quantum theories solved the debate by proposing wave-particle duality; Bruno claimed that the universe is infinite although he was sentenced to death eventually; Newton found the law of gravity. From this, we know that the question has played a significant role in the knowledge history. Future more, the core and essence of knowledge always can be discovered by question.
What's more, the questions and critics that were raised through deliberate investigation and careful consideration have contributed to not only the education but also the individual even the modern society as a whole. First of all, more conditions has been involved in the modern problems and, in this reason, one individual seems impossible to make the final judgments without the help of the questions and critics derived from other people. People present their contradicting views about the same issue through questioning and criticizing it or some other points of view will not only promotes people's understanding in the problems but also can help those who concern them get closer to the truth. Then, the questions and critics can also provide people with the opportunity to get the most rational and complete solution of almost all the issues and eventually benefit the entire development of the society.
To sum up, due to the aforementioned reasons, which sometimes intertwine to form an organic whole and thus become more persuasive than any single of them, we may safely arrive at the conclusion that students should have a good knowledge of the established knowledge theory and bring certain skepticism to whatever they study.作者: tsay 时间: 2008-7-26 22:09:08
