耳朵，不好意思，这是我整理的一些list，借你的这篇文章发出来，供大家参考一下。
Required Material:
1. Check for $140;
2. Form I-539;
3. Cover Letter for Requesting a Change of Status; （NOTE: If you have been offered an assistantship, please include and highlight in your letter:"please grant expedite assistantsgip pending." Also, write on bottom left corner of the enelope "Expedite:Assistantship pending."）
也许还可以加上： A list for everything that you have included in your application package and note that which one is original or not.
4. Form I-20;
5. Admission letter (copy?);
6. 有奖的同学：Scholarship/Assistantship Letter;
自费的同学：financial materials show that you have enough money for
your studies.(personal savings, sponsor's financial materials etc) 主要就是资产证明（美国这边的，国内的；当然如果这边的钱已经够了，就不需要国内的了），bank statements之类。
7. Photocopy of passport, and visa and previous Form I-20
8. Form I-94（有人说copy也行;交copy的好处是，如果INS转的太慢，还可以向学校再要一张I20去第三国签证，大家参考）;
Additional Material:
· Marriage Certificate;
。Certificate of Residence (in China)
· Photocopy of spouse’s passport, visa and Form I-94;
· Photocopy of spouse Form I-20;
· Spouse’s Fulltime Registration Certificate;
· Spouse’s Transcripts.
。 有鉴于耳朵她们关于Form I539的3g问题的讨论，可能有必要加上F1的奖学金证明。（我lg的学校开不到这样的证明，所有我打算把他的offer letter给复印了来代替。）
。 有在国内的房产证明的，也可以加上。（显示和国内的strong tie)
。 请Chinese employer写的邀请学成回国的letter.(这是我在mit上看到的，似乎的确只是个例；lordwithme说可能是J签证转身份需要的，我觉得很有道理；大多数人好像都没有交，我也不打算交了。呵呵）
In addition to the materials you mentioned. My lg's school also asks us that :
1. If you wish to apply to BCIS directly, you can mail all of the above items, by certified mail, return receipt requested.
2. Letter requesting change of status (explain why you did not apply for a student visa before you entered the U.S., and why your intentions have changed since entering the U.S.)
3.we should make and keep photocopies for our records before we mail them.

A letter to INS officer.
a) Why you want to change your status?
b) Why you decided to attend school?
c) Will you leave for your own country once you finish your study?
d) Description of your past education and employment
