I disagree with what the speaker claims in two ways. Reading book is still as important it once was, even more important in some aspects. It would not be replaced by television in terms of learning. Because we can learn deep knowledge in books and common knowledge on television respectively, and they can not be exchanged.
On television, we can learn some common knowledge in a pleasure way, and in this way, television can certainly replace books. In the life channel, we can learn how to cook and how to fix up a house. In the world of animal channel, we can know some interesting features of animals in the wild. In the movie channel, we can know a specific story revised from book in a favorable way. It is the television that convinent our learning process with respect to some common knowledge.
There are some unique features for books, such as deep discuss on some specific topics, which can not be reached by watching television. For instance, to some researchers, who usually do not like watching TV, they will turn for help on the research topics from books wirten by some experienced researchers. Because the television service for the majority, it would add some programms for the researchers in any particularly detail content.
To some reading lovers' point of view, the feelings of TV and books are different, for the TV focus on recreation, and books focus on reading and learning. When you are watching TV, you will natruely think that you are killing time, you can change to any channel by the remote handling if you want. However, when you are reading book, you are seriously to learn something. As long as someone would like to learn rather than play, he or she will chose books.

写的还行，就是论证的有点太简单了，最好能稍微深入些。看完没有被说服的感觉，不过倒是挺完整地表达了你的提纲。你分成常识与专业知识，这样挺好的，但是书提供专业知识的这一方面最好要深入。而且正文关于书与电视的对比也说得有点太笼统了。（个人见解而已）
