今天无意间看到了HKU Graduate House宿舍申请去年申请的report，更加觉得如果能拿到这个宿舍offer绝对无异于中彩票。

贴给大家看看

Admission report for the Residential Year 2007/2008:

1)
Application Assessor:

Resident Fellow & Master

2)
Admission Criteria:

a)
academic achievement – e.g. prizes, distinguished awards and scholarships received;
b)
non-academic achievement – e.g. participation in student societies, organization of student activities; other non-academic awards or distinctions achieved;
c)
special/personal needs.

3)
Application period and means:

Current Residents: from 1 March to 24 March 2007
New and Current PGs: from 1 March to 14 July 2007 (1st round)

All current residents, current and new postgraduate students who would like to reside at the Graduate House in the Residential Year 2007/2008 were invited to submit applications.
Notices to invite applications were posted on every floor of Graduate House, on the Graduate House homepage, and sent to all current postgraduates by bulk email.
Both current postgraduates and new postgraduates may apply for residence through the centralized online application system established by the Centre of Development and Resources for Students.

4)	No. of applications received as of 14 July 2007:

	From current residents applying for double rooms:	3
	From current postgraduates applying for single rooms:	154
	From current postgraduates applying for double rooms:	16
	From new postgraduates applying for single rooms:	356
	From new postgraduates applying for double rooms:	34

In order to minimize the work of the assessors and to shorten the time involved for assessing the applications, a standardized marking scheme comprising feedbacks from the Tutor Fellows and the Resident Representative was established based on the 3 criteria listed above. In addition, the In-House Management decided that only applications with Graduate House as the first priority were reviewed. The Resident Fellow scored the applications based on the marking scheme.

As there were a total of 696 applications and 195 out of them were successful, the rate of successful application was 28.02%.
This rate was lower than last year’s (36.33%) due to the increased number of applicants from 512 to 696.

8)
There are a total of 199 rooms in Graduate House, 190 singles and 9 doubles that can be offered to successful applicants.
Among the 9 double rooms, 4 were used as guest rooms at the time of this report whilst 5 were offered to the successful applicants. Graduate House was fully occupied at the date of this report.


9)
Committee members are informed that the number of successful current residents this year (106) was comparable to that of last year (107), thus the number of places that can be offered to new residents was comparable to last year’s. However, there was a 43.22% increase in the number of current and new postgraduate applicants but a 12.37% increase in the number of resident applicants as compared with last year’s. Thus, current and new postgraduate applicants faced greater competition for admission to Graduate House in 2007 than residents did for readmission.

GH应该是最激烈的，所以可以默认其他hall应该会高过22.8%吧~
