In this argument, the speaker suggests that the colleges, which were reported dramatic rise in cheating among students, should adopt honor code similar to Groveton’s to call for the students to promise not to cheat in the academic endeavors and to notify if someone is suspect having cheated. To support his conclusion, the speaker claims that the cases have decreased and quote the result of a recent survey conducted by the Groveton honor council. Nevertheless the speaker’s argument is still unfounded and inappropriate.

First of all, the honor codes is depend on the students’ oral assurance only which can not be credited completely all the time. Whether a student’s promise can be trust is mainly decided by his own moral or honor. If a unfaithful student who have promised to conform the honor code, do no cheats, would you believe him? In most cases, once he is in trouble of academic endeavors again, cheating is the most possible measure he will take overlooking all he has promised. So expecting the oral assurance will be in effect for all the students is impossible.

Secondly, the suspicious of others is also an inappropriate advice, instead of solving such problems, may easily generate more new problems. Admittedly, notifying the suspicious only without any specific proofs can easily be wrong, which definitely broke the friendship between the students and even leave a bad impressions on others. Because no one likes the people who disclose the companies secretly, especially for the students who are still not mature enough.

Thirdly, the survey that the speaker quoted is not convincing at all. Even though, from the result of the survey we can see that the amount of the cases has gone done apparently, it is also possible the result of other facts. For example, the exam itself plays an important role in causing the cheat cases. So in the first year after the measure is in place, the exam might be easier that lesser people need to cheat in the exam. What’s more, the reason is also might be what I insist above that many students were likely afraid of lose the friendship with others. So lesser people inclined to reported it, even when knowing some thing. In addition , the five years later statics is also unbelievable. As we know, five years is such a long time that lots of the things has changed and the comparison has also lost the value.

In summarize, in order to make the argument more convincible, the speaker need to provide us more specific survey statics and the comparison with the different conditions. And the other hand, the writer also has to present the rationality of such honor codes in schools different from Groveton's.

In this argument, the speaker suggests that the colleges, which were reported dramatic rise in cheating among students, should adopt honor code similar to Groveton’s to call for the students to promise not to cheat in the academic endeavors and to notify if someone is suspect (of)having cheated. To support his conclusion, the speaker claims that the cases have decreased and quote(s) the result of a recent survey conducted by the Groveton honor council. Nevertheless the speaker’s argument is still unfounded and inappropriate.

First of all, the honor codes is depend on the students’ oral assurance only which can not be credited completely all the time. Whether a student’s promise can be trust is mainly decided by his own moral or honor. If a unfaithful student who have promised to conform the honor code, (and)do no cheats, would you believe him? In most cases, once he is in trouble of academic endeavors again, cheating is the most possible measure he will take overlooking all he has promised. So expecting the oral assurance will be in effect for all the students is impossible.

Secondly, the suspicious of others is also an inappropriate advice, instead of solving such problems, (前无主语或少and)may easily generate more new problems. Admittedly, notifying the suspicious only without any specific proofs can easily be wrong, which definitely broke the friendship between the students and even leave(时态) a bad impressions on others. 总体感觉还不错,有小的语法错误。
作弊人数和考试难易程度的那一条挺好的,(我没想到,呵呵~~~)
关于notify就break friendship这一点我觉得应该论证清楚,直接说有点牵强。
