If professors in university not learned about the newest knowledge,they'll be restricted by the extbooks they hold. Because it's very possible that the information in books is wrong but the current is right. Therefore,to avoid this situation happens,faculty required to spend time working outside. And this will not only improve themselves' working experience,but also enlarge their current knowledge. And the most important at all is that it can help students to know about the current developments in the world. At the same time,the quality of the instruction level improved. Because practical working experience in the non-academic area relevant to their major will develop the faculty's understanding of the course they teach. From the perspective of students,the professors who have working experience can help them plan a more properly practical career. They teach students' knowledge and also share their experience in practical working. So that puting college faculty in the position of helping students adjusting from campus to the jub market. If a student just graduated from school and doesn't know more enough working experience,can he do his work without a hitch, or make a little mistakes? Normally,he can't. Hence, the speaker's assertion is absolutely right. However,going too far is as bad as not going far enough,meaning redundant outside work may do harm to instruction. The teacher who work outside fora too long time must be reduce the teaching quality. The process of students' study will be delayed by the teacher. That's harmful for both teachers and students. In sum,from what has been discussed above,we may finally draw the conclusion that it's necessory to let all faculty to required the outside work in the non-academic realm that related to what courses they teach.
