I just post my reply to some of the inquiries here.

(1) Tuition and living expense
Tuition goes up every year, if you can finish you degree within three semesters, you should expect (13000+1000)*3 for the money you pay to Georgia Tech. Rent ranges from 450 - 600 per month if you live off campus, and 150-200 is for food if you cook. You can register from 4 to 7 courses after you paid the tuition.

(2) Scholarship
For first year(09), 3 out of 7 of our first year Chinese students who came here without funding got GTA this semester, plus one has funding for first semester.
For second year(08), 6 of 7 got GTA or GRA for at least one semester.
There do exist opportunities to earn extra money. Grader at Math department, front desk at gym, tutor...

(3) MS stat , PhD
To get a MS Stat, just apply and take required courses. But it normally requires one or two more semesters to finish 10 more courses, and you need to take care of tuition.
We have PhD from this coming fall, one of the second year MS Econ applied and got full scholarship. It is just reapplying.

(4) Placement (Chinese)
The resource here at Tech is enough for both academic and industrial success.
For 07, three of them got job at US, one with MS from Econ and Stat, one has only MS Econ, one did undergrad here. Some of them found jobs in China.
For 08, the placement usually gets clear 4 to 6 months after graduation under the downturn of US economy. 2010 is a tough year.
For 09, one got PhD in Marketing from Northwestern, PSU, Emory, one got PhD in MIS from NYU

额。。。很好的信息= =虽然。。从placement看。。这个enough的说法感觉比较无力。。

1.学术本来就是靠天分的事情，你不能因为进入门槛低就哭着嚷着要一辈子不出去。献身的有烈士也有炮灰。其实我们都知道哪种更多。
以大多数人的努力程度还到不了谈天分的程度，然后呢？你继续努力结果到了谈天分的程度，发现确实不行，最后你或者接着催眠自己或者外出催眠别人？
2.当然某年某月的某一天，你终于意识到自己错了，千万别扭头骂街或说世界变糟糕了就业变差了。是你而不是这个世界错了哦。该。
好paper才是硬通货，别的最多也只能算冥币，有人爱自己画有人想挣钱后买着玩儿。
3.一边喊着言论自由，一边又哭着要对方说得温柔

请问econ@gatech中的3semester，是一年半，还是秋季开始到第二年夏季结束就毕业呢？

请问econ@gatech中的3semester，是一年半，还是秋季开始到第二年夏季结束就毕业呢？

You can finish you degree by summer or fall next year. Tuition doesn't differ that much.

MS Econ alone can hardly help you find a intern position. SAS certificates may help.

It depends how long you plan to finish MS Econ. I'd like to say that at least 4 regular semesters (fall or spring) and 1 summer semester would work(12+10 courses). You pay for 12 credits every semester, but you can take up to 21 credits for the same amount of money.
