今天总体形势比较糟糕，下午window 10一直比较冷清，我能过，有运气成分。
我的ds表是下载打印的。交表时被告知ds156需要重填。在我的表即将填完时，一位天津
的老大妈请我帮她填表，因为她的表已经过期了。我答应下来，但是这位大妈一问三不
知，我只好耐心看她的护照等资料，因此耗费不少时间，我自己的表也交得很晚。这导
致我几乎是当天最后签的一批人，没想到这就是运气的开始。
领到深绿色的牌子，于是开始观察情况。很不乐观，DTT快刀依旧，其他VO也好不了多少
。最后我排到了XTT一队。XTT十分认真，对材料看得也比较仔细，甚至有时会思考一段
时间，于是这一队签得很慢。但是很遗憾，他思考的结果居然是都拒了。眼看着前面已
经折了3，4个F1，我已不报大希望，准备和他玩点无厘头，冒险一搏了。
就在这时，应该是美男神态轻松地走了过来。因为已经没有等待的队伍了，美男就从XT
T的材料中拿走了两份，回到window 8，第一个就叫了我的名字。下面，正式开始。
C: Good afternoon，Sir.
V: ……
C: After I failed last time, I asked my department in University of Minnesot
a what I should do. They faxed a letter to the Embassy, and I also got a cop
y of it. Would you please have a look at it?
V: You mean this one?（他拿出了学校传真的那封信，并开始看）
C: Yeah.（我颇高兴，看来学校发信是管用的）
V: #$%why you failed?
C: I think the visa officer misunderstood my words. I didn’t get the chance
to explain some important details.
V: What’s your plan?
C: I want to be a project scientist in a Chinese medical device company. I w
ant to develop one kind of ECG monitor. Do you know ECG?
V:（摇头）
C: It means electrical cardiogram, one type of parameter from your heart. My
project is to apply signal processing algorithms on such device. It can det
ect many kinds of heart diseases, and its cost is low.
V: But it is also useful to American people.
C: That’s different. This technology is fit for developing countries.
V: Developing countries? Why?
C: (我心想你真可爱，居然从不打断我而让我沿着自己的思路说) You know, ECG dete
ction is not a new technology. In US, some other technologies have taken the
place of it, such as 核素成像 and 冠脉造影. In a word, to use imaging metho
ds to diagnose heart diseases. But the advantage of ECG technology is low pr
ice. Now I want to embed new algorithms into hardware design, so such a moni
tor can detect more useful information to diagnose arrhythmia. And its cost
is still low. I think there will be great need in developing countries.
V: Have you talked with others about your plan?
C: Yes. I have talked with one of my friends. He is a sales manager of Dongh
ong Medical Device Company. He showed great interests to this new type ECG m
onitor. He told me that there is a promising market in China. His words also
encouraged me.
V: Do you have a support letter from the company?
C: No. I don’t think a company can promise a position after 5 years. I am c
onfident that there will be many high positions waiting for me in the future
, Because BME is developing very fast in China.
V: What do you think of BME.
C: Well, It’s an interdisciplinary subject, using engineering methods to so
lve medical problems. It’s very interesting. I am good at hardware design a
nd I’m interested in DSP theory. So in BME, I can apply signal processing a
lgorithms on hardware. This is also my MS degree work. This is my paper. I g
et great pleasure from this major.
V:（接过我的文章扫了一眼）You haven’t got your MS degree?
C: In fact I just passed my MS degree defence the day before yesterday, So I
am happy now.
V: Do you have a transcript from Tsinghua?
C: It’s here.
V: Your resume?
C: ok, my resume(递给他).
（他看材料，然后敲电脑，我见冷了一会，就开始说些闲话）
C: You know，I like device design and dsp. BME of UMN just has both medical
device design and signal processing. It matches my interests. So I selected
this university. I think it is an ideal place for me.
V: Why not to be a professor?
C: (我对他这时问出这个问题比较惊讶)Because I have no ambition in teaching. I
have no interest.
V: I will issue you visa.
C: Thank you very much.
感觉：此人比较认真、耐心。学校的信作用比较大。事先的准备大部分都用上了，可见
充分准备是必要的。
