Issue:150 because of television and worldwide computer connections, people can now become familiar with a great many places that they never visited. As a result, tourism will soon bacome obsloete.
Time:1:30:00 Word:540
It is true that with television and worldwide internet, we can easily watch beautiful scenery, hear pleasant brid singing and have a close look at dilicious native foods, which may make tourism not that necessary. So, will television and computer connection take place of tourism? At first sight, it might be “yes”, however, with a close concern, my anwser is definitly “NO”.
Acutally, television and Internet, as public media, are supposed to provide people with introduction or imformation. This, to some entent, should be considered as a way of promotion rather than an act of replacing. Nowadays, many famous tourisms, such as Effel Tower and Disney Land, have produced their own document as an advertisment to attract tourists. If televison and Internet would indeed mar the industry, why they would spend thousands of million in doing the “stupid thing ”?
With much more information, people may even find out destinations that they have never heard. With no these information, an Amrican can hardly know Mount Ti, and so does a Chinese know London Towel, straight across oceans and continents.
Besides, they can decide where to go and how to enjoy their trip more accuratly. Only with a name, how can people know wether it ts the place they are willing to go? But with direct pictures and elaborated introductions, an easy elimination of dull distination may make boring ones obsolete just as the title said. However, to those really interesing ones, that could a rather different sight. Beautiful things or comfortable life, conveied via television or internet, can always evoke people’s curiosity and that would definitly prompt tourism industry. In an Australian tourism, you can never enjoy the gustation of huge lobster on the screen, when you have already been appetized. And you may decide to go for a taste.
More importantly, eliminating inferior ones and promoting superior ones would naturlly ameliorate the industry. The choice is between providing a better trip or being oblivious. It is just like sailing against the stream, if progression, the only choice, can not be achieved, what you will get is noting but regression. That is, with the power of conputer connection and wouldwide television, the future of tourism might be even much bright rahter than being obsolete or oblivious.
Admittedly, there are people, with laziness, who would choice to sit in front of the screen, watch the programmes and napping. But they are astray. Please remember the real value of tourism is to relax yourself, is to give you a chance to experience the nature with all your faculty. And that is what they have forgotton, what television and worldwide conputer connections can never take place of! Had you not been to Lake Fuji, how could you smell the frangrance of Sakura? Had you not been to the coarse of Australia, how could you taste the fresh seafood? Had you not been to the top of Mount Ti, how could you touch the cloud and step on them? All these fantsies are there waiting for you, youself, to experience but not via the screen.
All in all, televisions and computer connections are just accesses to your destination, where a brilliant trip is waiting for you and a bright future for the tourism industry. |
