Issue238 第2篇青蛙要求被红烧

Conformity almost always leads to a deadening of individual creativity and energy.
------正文------
Everyone is able to go day dreaming, but only those dreams conforming to the basic rules could be useful and even realized. Energy of an individual is from the encouragement of the realization of his creative ideas, which can't be achieved without the conformity between the team members in a world where collaboration is never more important.

The conformity is rather the source of creativity and energy than the murder of them, if probably applied.

Martin Luther King, Jr. has a dream, in which his children and the white kids could live together, judging not by their color but their performance. He is definitely such an energetic man that is capable of holding on to the dream for his whole life. And the conformity from all the people that hold the same dream has given him the power to fight on and on.

Edison is considered one the most creative man in the world. His inventions have generally changed the face of the world. He is in the first place a very knowledgeable man, who knows a lot from chemistry to physics. With the conformity to the fundamentals, he could progress to generate his useful ideas. He has a group of technicians, who made prototypes from all his designs. The conformity of the group to Edison's blueprint leads to the emergence of bulb, battery, cable, etc..

In the present world, the spirit of team work has never been more emphasized. The content of team work actually is dealing with the issue on how to fully make everyone in the team creative and energetic. When arguing about the plan for the team, everyone is promoted to think creatively. However, when the final plan is settled, everyone is supposed to conform to it and act on it. There is no longer any difference between "me" and "my team". High conformity assures high capability.

It happens that conformity deadens individual creativity and energy sometimes. Those are the occasions that one conforms without critical thinking but just following. A “good” conformity goes with some requisites, the most significant of which is thinking. Only those conformities with careful consideration nurture creativity and energy.
