The Artificial Intelligence and Modeling Lab forCardiovascular Diseases (AIMCardio Lab) at the Worcester PolytechnicInstitute offers multiple graduate research assistant (or research associate)positions. We seek candidates who are self-motivated, reliable,energetic, and passionate about fluid-structure interaction (computationaland/or experimental) and its applications for cardiovascular diseases andmedical devices. AIMCardio Lab has long-standing collaborations with severalU.S. hospitals (Geisinger Medical Center, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia,Boston Children’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Atlanta, etc.) and medicaldevice companies. Please refer to the latest research at AIMCardioLab.wpi.edu Job Responsibilities: - · Conduct various team-oriented and independentinvestigations in planning, developing, and implementing original experimentalprocedures within the overall scope of the research project.
- · Collect, analyze, and report on experimentaldata; create and maintain accurate and timely records of test results andprotocol design; publish research findings in conference proceedings andhigh-impact research journals.
- · Exercise independent responsibility for projectoutcomes and design research for others to conduct.
- · Actively participate in soliciting funds throughvarious federally funded research grant mechanisms (NIH, NSF, etc.), andtranslational research funds.
- · Participate in industry projects.
- · Work on innovation-oriented technologicalprojects with potential for commercialization.
- · Mentor peer graduate students, undergraduatestudents, and technicians.
Required Qualifications - · Solid background in fluid mechanics
- · Proficiency in CAD design (with a preference forSolidWorks) and programming skills (utilizing C, C++, Python, or MATLAB).
Preferred Qualifications - · Experience with flow visualization techniques,such as Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV), or
- · Experience with fluid-structure interactionsimulation.
