Fact，as we all know, is a claim corresponding to the objective reality, a detail related to the past or present circumstance, and a synonym for reality. According to the words cited above, it is stubborn and humans could not inflect it by our wishes, inclinations and passions. Whereas, to my way of thinking, under certain background, it is not as adamant as we think and varies case by case corresponding to different situations. People are entirely possible to alter it with their faith and passion. In order to make more sense about my point of view, illustrations are listed as follows.
In first place, I admit that in some situations, facts are unable to be altered. The most persuasive example is history, which is known to all that is a record of the past things. It exhibits the real things ever happened before, with fully cultural relics and monument as the strongest evidences to support it. Obviously making the falsification is an illusion unless there is someone who is able to cross the sea of time. Falsify the history is ignoble and causes biased result. To make it more clear, for instance, some Japanese refuse to put the bloodbath which they made during the world war II in China into the textbooks and acknowledge what they had done, which as a result, would lead a false cognition of the history to the offspring .Nevertheless, historical records and witness’ voice had contradicted it potently. Albeit history is just a fact of the past time recording, it would not be covered by anyone and anything, for truth are always exists. It is regarded as the most direct reflects of the past reality, an objective detail truth. Everybody needs to take a correct attitude towards history.
Despite that in some cases facts are stubborn, and there is no way to alter it, sometimes facts can be influenced by our propensity, desirability and enthusiasm. Dating back to the Roman times, the emperor Tiberus used to eat a kind of cucumber everyday. However, the fact is, the kind of cucumber only matured in warm climate, it was not ready during the winter. For the sake of living, and supplying the cucumber for the emperor daily, gardeners struggled to search some artificial methods to ensure the cucumber alive during the winter. After hundreds of times of trials, ultimately, they made it through glazing the cucumber houses a piece of oiled cloth or a sheet of mica. This is the origin of the greenhouse. It is not hard to imagine that without the wishes and propensity of the gardeners, there would be no greenhouse and the gardeners would be false to please the emperor, even lost their lives. The example illustrates the point that under certain circumstance, facts are also able to be altered by our wishes, inclinations, and passions.
In sum, to some degree facts are firm, and not easy to be changed. Whereas, in other situations, facts are not as stubborn as we consider, we are capable of struggling to remodel it, as long as we have faith, desirability and enthusiasm.
