12.15 Most businesspeople are motivated only by the desire of money.
A heated debate about whether most businessmen are motivated only by the desire of money is under way. Considering the beneficial effects brought by material profit preponderate over the merit of other business incentive, such as charity or interest, I completely agree with the statement that it is the desire of money that can motivate business people to chase more profit for his company and success in his career.
To begin with, it is undeniable that to make money for a corporation is the rudimental principle for a businessman. In other words, businessman wouldn't achieve success, if they didn't have the incentive of chasing money. Take some survey from scientists for example. we can find that most successful businessmen said that a deep desire for money is an indispensable and direct ingredient when they began to built up a company. Those businessmen all hold the idea that the first thing they should do is to make more profit than they expected in the beginning of the operation. Without incentive of desire for money, they cannot achieve such a tough target in a short time.
Furthermore, it is undisputable that capital is the essential factor for a company to enlarge its operation scale. Take my uncle for another instance. He built up a small workshop which could earn a bit profit in my hometown. Nevertheless, he was a man who had a strong desire for money. Well planning the investing program, he continued his business by enlarging his small workshop to big factory. it is the desire for money that help my uncle climbed to another pitch in his career.
However, some factors, including the investor's interest sprouted in his childhood, some dreams expecting to be true and
exotic public non-profit ideas, are also considerated to be the incentive force when businessmen do some invest, it is the money, a realistic material, that should be the thumb in his mind.
Judging from the evidences I offered above, the rewarding effects brought by money is more potent than other factors for a businessman to operate his enterprise and attain more profit and success. Therefore, if I were a businessman, I would certainly consider profit and money my fist incentive.
